Questions & Answers

Can you tell me which boot the inner CV is on the 2010 Kia Sedona?

The Dorman site says the vehicle does not have a split CV boot.

What is the fitment of this part to the inner CV boot on a 2008 Ford Focus?

No, Dorman 614 is what you need for inner

Do you think it will fit on a 2004 ?

This vehicle does not have one listed by Dorman.

Would you know if this is a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

It seems to be the outer layer. Despite being universal, it might not work (or it might). There was a lot of dried out glue and rubber in mine. Replacing the axle assembly with an extra few dollars will be worth it.

By gluing together two halves, a moving component can be held in place
3/5

I don't like that idea. As a backup car to use when my other vehicle is out of commission, I have a 1997 Camry. Originally my brother in law gave it to me, it has been owned by one person, so I took My attention was drawn to all the grease on the suspension when I replaced the ABS sensor on the drivers' side. An extensive amount of damage was done to the CV boot. I don't want to invest my money into a car that is I had expected to replace the axle, the right thing to do, but there is no noise. I looked up CV boots and found this part. I watched every video before ordering. This boot has several issues that bother me the most I was fascinated by the glue used to fuse the two halves together, as well as the fact that it was in two pieces. As far as the glueing the first half is concerned, everything went smoothly. You must squeeze the side of the boot measuring less than half its length together in order to get it to fit tightly. After doing this, the other side wants to follow me, which is why glue got into the second half of the boot in my case. The panic set in as I was prying off the glue from the part of the inside I didn't want. While I was pulling the other side, I was able to separate it, but at the same time, it came undone. There is no reason to design it like others I have seen, except that it won't fit my car, with one connection once it is attached to the As well as some that screw together, I've seen some that are glued To me, it is a much stronger and more It is possible for glues with high temperatures to not cure properly or to have an issue with grease contacting it. Moreover, there is a pretty good chance that the worm drive clamp that is on this boot could loosen. As far as the fit and trimming are concerned, but making the glue stay in place and the two piece design are concerns of mine. It was a failure! Although the concept is good, the design is out of place. A recent update Due to the fact that the boot has held up and not leaked grease thus far, that's the sole reason for giving it an extra star. An additional black gasket has been added over the glued joint to further enhance seal. We did not have any problem with the worm clamps after a couple hundred miles. This will be an easy to do it yourself fix as long as I add another clamp and lock tite. I will still make the changes I mentioned.

It was a dud the first time
5/5

I had no problems with the second one! I had a little trouble getting the last part of the frame glued, but it can be done. I also used RTV to fill in the gaps since it was a bit small for my 2001 S10. This is a great method of mounting a proper one that works just as well as removing everything else to get one. The trip included off-road travel as well as 5000 miles The truck has been roading for a long time and is still holding up very well. Be sure you clean up all the old grease first before packing with new grease, and do not overload or you will have trouble getting the glue to stick. A drawback of glue is that it is very runny but dries very fast, which can be as good as a drawback. A small amount of black rtv has been applied to the glued-in areas. I think overdoing it is overkill, but if it is worth doing, it is worth doing to the best of your abilities. As part of my Army service, we did something similar with the 3/75 regiment.

The bandaid was cheap, but it wasn't a permanent solution
3/5

Despite the fact that it was marginally easy to size and install, I probably took about 20 minutes once the car was jacked up, the wheels removed, etc. The directions were followed to the letter because I was cautious not to contaminate the glue. Even so, the boot split apart after about 10 miles of walking. It might have been better for me if I had just gone ahead and replaced the half shaft at the outset. It was a waste of $25.

I'm pleased with the way things are going so far
4/5

The current state of affairs has been good so far- Since I placed it on, it has been almost two months. I would like to mention a As a result, my boots are stiffer than my originals. The boot section appears to be rubbing on a part of the arm component as it turns, which could result in it wearing out, so when you place the inner clamp on the axil you may want to stretch the boot further to avoid this, which I may do. It is tough for me to tell how much these flex seals will help in strengthening my glue line. The visualization and glue are tricky to apply once you have it clam shelled over your axil, but once you get it over there, make sure you lock it in and let it dry. With the stiff boot, you might find it more comfortable to heat it with a hair dryer to soften it and make it easier to work with.

It was a waste of both time and money
3/5

On my smaller car there are too many things in the way, so it might work OK in a bigger car or truck. It had become soaked in grease when I got it out of the water after it was fished from everything and no amount of cleaning(without removal) could remove every trace of grease from the glue-up I wasted a lot of time and money because the glue didn't hold! YEAH, I got it! As far as clamps go, they are garbage as well! The clamp is tightened by a screw that goes in a depression (rather than a hole). In addition to tightening the screw, the clamp cocks to one side allowing the screw to lift up and rotate rather than.

Make sure you are not wasting your On a 2002 Camry LE, I fitted this CV boot
3/5

An opening on the wide end of the boot is circular, but the shaft to which it attaches is hexagonal (flat). The old boot was used as an adapter to connect the round repair boot to the flat-bottomed repair boot The boot attaches to the axle surface on the opposite side. I was only 20 miles from home when the boot failed! I'm fairly certain that the failure point did not occur The boot fits a 2002 Toyota Camry LE V6, but not the 2002 Toyota Camry LE.

That seems to be appropriate
5/5

Accord (V6) review for the 1999 model year. I found the installation process to be fairly easy. I think it's a good product. My only issue was there wasn't enough clearance for the clamp screw to get by the lower ball joint (which rotates as the CV joint does). To lower the height of the clamp, I used a low-profile tool. My next update will come after some time. I have updated Even now, 7 months later, the product is.

According to the description, I should have been able to use this product on my vehicle
3/5

My vehicle was not really compatible with it. There was about a centimeter-sized mismatch in circumference of the large diameter of the CV boot repair part that was supposed to fit around the axle under the wheel. My solution was to apply a small amount of extra adhesive that they provided into the gap and then tighten the hose clamp There should still be no issues, but this is not a permanent solution, so we'll have to do it again when it's time!.
