They're about 16 inches long.
On a 2001 Saturn SL2, I used CV Joint Boot clamps for the steering rack boots and had no issues. I simply cut off about a quarter of an inch to make it shorter and smoothed the cut edge with a file; I had no idea they were for a different purpose at the time. On a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier, I clamped one rack boot, but it has an opening for the air breezer, so it appears to be a little too wide, but it closes everything. Now that I've located the exact original clamps for the steering rack boot, I'll replace it with the second boot and keep the CV clamp until the next time I change it to maintain symmetry.
After placing a clamp around your object, tighten it by inserting the teeth into the grooves and squeezing the sides of any flat parts that are sticking out with a crimper. The clamp is tightened as they approach each other. While a dedicated crimper is ideal, you could achieve the same results with a non-specialized crimper. If you're careful, you can get some specialized tools. However, it is unlikely that the clamp will be as tight.

I've gone through more than half of the large ones and can't seem to get one to hold. They're crimped too shallowly and won't hold a crimping tool well. These clamps have proven to be more of a hindrance than a help. I'm going to toss them in the trash and go out looking for some real clamps. These aren't something I'd buy again. Never again, please!.
These clamps are merely adequate. OEM or genuine Oetiker clamps are far superior. It's important not to overtighten when installing. I had to break a few before I got it right. If they stand up to daily use, only time will tell. I don't have a lot of faith in myself.
These clams are far superior to the sliding and folding bands. These hold their shape well and resemble the original factory bands. Even if you get a lot of them, it's still worth it because I like how secure they are. To achieve the desired length, use a diagonal cutter.
Looks great, and the clamp ring has a good amount of tension. These will be used in a future project to replace the front suspension and drivetrain on older 4x4s. It's never a bad idea to keep spares in the garage in case family or friends drop by. I've come to the conclusion that I'm in desperate need of assistance.
I would not hesitate to purchase these again because they perform as expected. They form a strong, secure seal around the boot, but only if Oetiker pilers or equalivent are used.
I needed to repack the grease in the CV joints, but I wasn't sure if these clamps would do the job as well as the factory clamps did. I'm pleased to report that they were successful! I was blown away by it.
The meta is thick and strong, and it holds up well. Other cheap aluminum or alloy ones will snap if you drive too fast or turn the steering wheel too quickly. These are extremely effective and are made of thick, durable steel.
We need to take an inner c on occasion. a v boot removed from an axle's haft The old c. v boot clamp, which is very universal and easy to use, is ruined when doing so.
