It is capable of clamping boots

If you're used to removing bellows boots from steering racks or CV joints, this will help you reinstall them. I would strongly suggest it.

This CV boot clamp tool performed admirably, with the exception that the crimp appeared to be slightly off to one side, but it was adequate. Excellent value for money.

It works! This is an excellent resource

If you buy one, make sure it has the hex rachet attachment points. It is very useful. This clamp was made with an 18-inch breaker bar and a 3/4-inch rachet. There will be no issues.
