One of the seat bases started to rust after fishing saltwater for one and a half On the same boat I have other Attwood seat bases that do not rust. So why the difference in these is because all the stainless steel is supposed to be durable. What if the SS grade was now just a little lower?.
This is a piece of rusted junk. Your money is worth saving. That's junk that has rusted over time. Marine Stainless may be used for the plate, but junk steel is used for the post insert.
I found it to be perfect for my needs. It is just a matter of screwing it down and popping in the seat post.
I like how it works.
They arrived in a timely manner. How I expected it to be.
