You mount a base plate by screwing it in. The switch is attached to this. Unlike the piece shown in the photo, which snaps onto a base, no screws are visible in the finished look.

The RV matched just what I was looking for

That's just what I need to match the rest of my RV's Grand Design. A little pricey, and in my application I had to purchase the switch (JR Products 13095 Black SPDT On/Off Switch) separately due to the fact that it is not sold with the base for the particular switch I was seeking, so it ended up being twice the cost I needed. My goal is still to make my changes, but I'm glad I was able to do so.

Ensure that your switch is matched up correctly

In spite of Amazon's "frequently bought together" on the switch 12595, this switch will not fit the 12305 plate (as had been written by another poster too late). had to modify mine to function with some Dremel tooling because I didn't want to wait for an exchange, but I would not recommend doing so. You may wish to buy a complete unit (plate and switch) to ensure it is fully functional.

It works great, I used switch 13095 and I like how the switch sticks out about a quarter inch further than the back of the bezel, so unless you want to make a larger hole, it will be secure and looks great.

There is a nice, sturdy cover for the switch

This switch cover is very strong and sturdy, they are a bit on the large side, but I purchased them to give me the option of pulling the switches away from the outside wall on my enclosed utility trailer with 1" thick walls. I will be able to do so without damaging the switch connections.

A pure white cover for the light switch. It seems like a lot of packaging for such a small product. It is better than getting one that is crushed. Nothing to worry about, just snaps into place.
