the lights are not on. The only one I could find wasn't what I was looking for.
It has male spade connectors on the back that are 3/16" in diameter. The following choices are available to you You can pick up female connectors at your local auto parts store and crimp them to your wires.
It must first be powered by 12 volts direct current. A second check should be made against the vacuum's load rating and the switch's load rating. Switches with voltage ranges of 110 to 120 volts aren't likely to handle them.
There is no need to alter the measurements. The switch measures 2 7/8 wide by 1 7/8 tall.

As I searched, I entered surface mount switch's and this brought up a list of results. It does not fit on a surface mount but, despite being a very nice switch that matches other switches at the RV it is In fact, it takes a very large rectangular hole to get it flush, and to do that, you need to take your dremel and cut the hole into place. I would have preferred to know this before hand, had I known about it beforehand.
However, it doesn't mount flush to the surface. In order to get it to sit flush (see pictures), you should make a relief hole. It was good and I would order it again if I needed it.
This switch has lots of pros and cons. The first thing they do is match up They are the smartest RV switch in that regard since they are found on 9% of the RVs out there. Despite that, I will never use them again since they don't lay flush with the floor. You may see that the switch portion is under the top plate when you remove the top plate. A little bit of plastic protrudes from the back of the plastic, where it faces the wood. I may have missed it or maybe there is a spacer I can use, but from my experience with this switch, you would have a gap of almost 1 /8" around the unit when it is placed against the wood and covered, and that is unacceptable to me. These were purchased for an RV upgrade project, and I had to mortar out the wood so that the protrusion could be used.
I got it today, tried to install it, got stuck on the fact that there's only one terminal to attach the wire to. A second one is literally sitting in the packaging. Would you say that their quality control is subpar? Can I really trust it inside a moving vehicle in which I'm sleeping? As soon as the package is opened, it starts to fall apart. Does it support a sleep mode? I want to make sure it won't blow up or short out while I'm sleeping.
I'm impressed with the way the rocking motion is, and it's nice and smooth. For this to fit, I had to trim a tiny bit of the hole in the wall (thin walls) but that took about one minute. The new look update really brightened up the exterior of my camper, so I don't have to trade it in for a new one yet.
The switch is very well built and matches perfectly with my other switches in my RV. you should be aware that these switches use 3/16" spade lug connectors (rather than 1/4"), and if you have shallow clearance behind the switch, you will need to use female flag (90 degree) connectors which are very difficult to find, and expensive to order. Prepare yourself in advance!.
In the roof mounted light fixture, this switch is located on top of the fixture so that the little lady and kids do not have to climb on a step stool to reach it. My local Napa store had a connector pack for the back connections, which I thought were a bit small and harder to plug in. The connections are clearly marked and the installation is straightforward.
In both installations, I spent some time making sure they were installed correctly. If you use wire over 18 gauge, you must keep it as small as possible. Whenever I am designing LED lighting projects, JR Products will be my only source.
