Switches like these are not available at Honda garages. My repair would cost about $90 if I had to replace the entire module. The symptoms are The map light on the driver's side would not work when opening the door, but it worked when the switch was off. I did some research and found that Hondas are quite prone to this odd problem. It was determined that the switch needed to be replaced. Consequently, I had to choose between spending $12 on the theory, or spending $90 for the entire course. Bringing in a switch that works on the 2007 Pilot was the next challenge. However, even though Amazon claimed they would not work, the switches appeared identical to those in stock. The plan worked perfectly after I took the risk. Depending on the type of switch you have, you may need to take the lens off. Carefully pry it off with a screwdriver or knife by gently prying Those that are pried off at the correct spot will come off a lot easier. In a few moments, the whole assembly is going to fall The 4 tabs will have to be popped out of the housing so that the module can be removed. The switch should come out easily. Now, using either a small blade screwdriver or knife, pry the switch sideways to make sure you have the correct switch. Initially, it will appear that it will not move, but it is going to pop out right away. Corrosion tends to build up on the middle contact on the module, so you might want to scrape it gently away. Bend the pins, but don't break them! Switch everything on and snap it into place. I am done. It will take a little over half an hour to complete the entire job. In addition to the strain of working overhead, this job is quite simple. This is a good deal.
There are some good reasons to use these and the price is so low that they are almost These switches are likely to help you if you have a problem with interior lighting. Check the contacts that go into the holes of these switches, but make sure they are in good condition. There is a tendency for the middle contact to corrode. If you elect to replace the light switches in your fixture, you may have to partially disassemble the fixture so that you can clean the connections properly.
A front map light is missing on a 2004 Accord. If the light does not turn on when the door is opened, but does when you manually turn it on with the button, this is the part that is broken. As I recall, it was well within reach and easy to replace, and it did alleviate the problem to a large extent. It did fit perfectly and was a much cheaper and better option than repairing the entire map light assembly. It was for that reason that it was given The problem is, they do not last long Despite being a factory switch, it lasted 10 years before failing. I replaced my old ones with a set of these and was pleasantly surprised when the new ones Having replaced both switches, I thought I would be prepared to replace the other one in due course. A few months later, another stopped working. One only lasted six months, the other for a couple. After ordering a second time, I hoped my first order had been faulty. It has now been 3 months, and one has again failed. Anyway, as a result of wasting my money and time replacing these switches multiple times, I'm going to buy the Honda map light assembly. You should buy these if you sell used cars. If you want it to last for more than a few months, do not purchase these. This is all to say, I suspect it might be the dimming that is causing them to fail so rapidly. As soon as I close my door, all of my lights dim slightly, then fade out a few moments later. The switches begin buzzing as soon as they dim, and continue for a short while after full off (very slight, but noticeable compared to original). Perhaps if your car has a simple on/off switch, some of these may last longer.
I have an '07 Honda Pilot EX and it fits and works like a charm By removing all four machine screws (2 under the courtesy/map light lens, and 2 under the sunglass holder), it proved to be much easier to remove the entire overhead console from the vehicle. The two wiring harness connectors on the backside will need to be removed and brought to a You can remove the assembly from the frame using a small screwdriver or a knife to remove the 4 tabs on your ear pads (do this from the back). Tighten) the connection for a strong.
I hope it will last for a long time. You know that feeling when you do something minor and you expect a ticker tape parade from your friends once you walk back into Right now, that is how I am feeling. The problem was diagnosed, orders for new switches were placed, they arrived the next day, and the new switch was installed in about ten I worked it out, and it worked. In response to my attempt to explain all the steps I took to get her truck working again, this was my wife's reaction "That sounds interesting. It wasn't too much of a deal and I was probably right in my reaction. I'm reading this recipe in order to make my shopping list. " Honestly, it wasn't much trouble. I found these switches to be just what I needed and installed them very easily. Feel free to throw some shredded paper at me if we ever happen to pass by an airport.
The switch is fine, however the longer switch does not fit the overhead map light on the 2004 Chevrolet Silverado. The electrical connection doesn't plug into the GM wiring either. This could not be done without custom wiring. Switches fit in the mount, and you could just use them without using buttons if you don't mind not using them.
I had a problem with one of the map lights in my 06 Pilot With the door open, the light would not turn on and the switch to turn it on did not work. Both replacing the bulb and replacing the transformer failed to solve the problem. This map light would not work with a bulb known to work in the other On the Piloteers forum, I saw that this switch might be the cause of the issue. So I ordered the part and followed the directions online for removing the entire assembly and replacing it with the new part. While the other one was working, I replaced both of them since I find it's usually a good idea to do it at the same time rather than having to do it all over again soon when/if the other one fails. As soon as I reinstalled the map light assembly, everything worked as it should. It isn't difficult to do this if you have decent DIY skills. If you wish to remove the map light lenses and assembly, use plastic trim pry tools to avoid scratching or damaging.
