Selected User Reviews For GM Genuine Parts D1425B Trunk Lock with Key
The item was delivered on time and fit perfectly. It wasn't, however, a Delco lock assembly from the factory. I've installed a number of these, both Delco and aftermarket, in my 47 years as an automotive technician. This was an aftermarket part, which is fine because both Delco and aftermarket parts are of excellent quality. So, if you're looking for a lock cylinder for your car, these are my top picks.
It's a perfect match for my 1970 Monte Carlo. I misplaced my trunk key and had to pay $35 to get it back. To make one for me, I'd have to pay 00. I got a good deal on this and it's brand new. My previous one had already been scratched. It's beautiful to look at, and it's also functional.
It fit perfectly, but I had to use my old trunk parts to make it fit. My vehicle is a 1979 Chevrolet Caprice with an automatic transmission. I believe the rod didn't fit because of the electric release. The retaining clip was close to being perfect, but not quite. It was possible for me to complete the task.
This fit perfectly in the trunk of my 1969 Caddy. When the local locksmith said he no longer did cars, I figured, what the hell, I'll give it a shot. Because I had never done this before, it took me about 20 minutes to replace the part, and I saved at least $150 by doing it myself.
I bought this lock for a 1969 Camaro, but when I installed it, I discovered that the key is oriented horizontally rather than vertically. As a result, the shaft will not be able to engage the vertical opening in the latch because of the lock mechanism. br>This lock is most likely for a camaro from 1967. The lock was packaged in what appears to be an authentic AC Delco D1425B box. Pull your lock and compare it to the photos in the description before making a purchase. Don't buy if the photos don't match.
on time.
During the restoration of my 1974 Nova hatchback, I had to replace the hatchback lock cylinder. I couldn't get the key out of the old one because it had become jammed. Keep in mind that the hatchback has a different bar that connects the back of the lock cylinder to the latch assembly, so you'll need to save it if you're working on one. Because the clip is unique, you'll need to save and reuse it as well. The existing clip and bar were in excellent condition, so that was no problem, and the lock cylinder was not difficult to replace. My hatchback is now unlocked and I can open it without difficulty for a very small sum of money.
Heavy-duty construction. It really works. Heavy-duty construction. The clip that comes with it may or may not fit your vehicle. So be sure to keep the stock clip until you've double-checked that they're the same length. I threw mine out and had to force the one that came with it as far as I could before installing screws to keep it from backfiring. Aside from that, everything is fine.
