Questions & Answers

When the description says 3/8", why does the seller claim they don't know what thread size it is? Is it possible that they are too stupid to deal with?

I'm not sure why they said otherwise; it's a 3/8 NPT thread. Shopping went off without a hitch (prime 2day), and I installed it on my project car, where it's been performing admirably thus far.

Buy betta if you're too cheap to work
3/5

I couldn't get it to work for me. When closed, only 9 volts can pass through. My fan relay will not be plugged in. When you pull the wire and connect it to the ground, the fan will start. Allow time for the engine to cool before checking for ground. 0 volts. It opens and closes in this manner. However, the resistance is too high for my application (which isn't "out of the box," but is quite simple. ).

Don't buy if it's broken
3/5

I bought two so I would have a spare. The first one didn't work at all and let the temperature rise to 220 before blowing a hose, the second one came on at 190 for one trip and then wouldn't switch at all the next day, both defective. I put the original one back in and it works fine. Sending them back would be more expensive than their value. Adding to the growing number of defective items sold on Amazon.

Switch for the cooling fan Hello, I'm writing this review because I bought this fan switch for my 1982 Chevrolet 350, and it works perfectly
5/5

I had a spal 185/165 and was never able to get it to work properly with a 160 degree acdelco performance thermostat. They never shut off when they were turned on at 185 degrees, but now that I've installed this sensor, they're set to 185/175 degrees and my fans work perfectly. Only time will tell if this sensor will last; for the time being, it is working perfectly; if anything changes, I will update this review.

175 NPT 3/8 NPT 3/8 NPT 3/8 NPT 3/8 NPT 3 The temperature is 185 degrees
4/5

The switch worked, and the thread is 3/8 NPT. On the stove, it was turned on at around 185 degrees Fahrenheit and turned off at around 175 degrees Fahrenheit. perhaps a smidgeon less Two oil thermometers on the stove, as well as my Autometer gauge, indicate that it is accurate. The brass work is nice, and the machining is nice, but only time will tell if it will hold up.

It is not 170 OFF, as stated in the description
3/5

The description is incorrect; the sending unit and packaging state that it turns off at 175 degrees, not 170 degrees! Made in China, I installed it anyway in the hopes that it works well and lasts a long time.

Failure
3/5

I bought two, one as a backup, and installed the other. The backup didn't work out tonight. I haven't been able to locate any that are trustworthy.

This isn't going to work for me
3/5

This fit my engine physically, but it wouldn't close the contacts and turn the fan on.
