What is the difference between the switch and the bushing thread sizes? Is the switch, for example, m16 or 1/8" npt if the bushing is 3/8" npt?

If my memory serves me correctly, it's 3/8" and the bushing would be 1/2". I used it without the bushing and it fit my chevy 350 head's oem plug.
