It's possible that you'll need to replace your blower motor as well. I bought two of these, and after a few months, they both burned out and stopped working. Same thing happened when I ordered from a different auto parts store for a higher price. It was discovered that if your vehicle is older, the blower motor is causing the resistor to fail, and you will need to replace the blower motor, connector, and resistor. This part will do the job for less money, but you may need to replace the blower motor as well.
Now I have all of the speeds that I should have. br>It's time to make some changes. As of 11- My blower motor does not have a high speed setting. Once again, there are only four speeds. I'm going to a local parts store to get the next one.
It was a perfect fit for my 2003 Dodge Dakota. All fan speeds except HIGH were not working at all, and this was fixed. Unfortunately, the good news comes to an end there. The device lasted exactly two months before I noticed a strange odor while driving and realized my heater blower fan had stopped working. It worked after I changed it to the HIGH setting, but the three lower speeds stopped working. UGH!.
As a result, instead of "Off, Low, Medium, High, Highest," the dial read "Off, Off, Medium, High, Highest. " My A/C light would even turn off, just as it does when you turn off your fan completely. br>According to the forum post that inspired me to replace this resistor, the other people who were experiencing this issue only had the highest fan speed setting and no others. br>With the exception of the awkward angle under the dash, replacing it was a breeze. To get it to fit, I think we had to carve out a notch or break off a tab (I installed it last summer, so I'm a little fuzzy on the details). But it solved my problem and everything has been fine since then!.
it was a success Simple to set up. This part should never be installed for a fee. Using YouTube and Amazon, I was able to save more than $200.
You may have a bad resistor if you suddenly lose all of your blower speeds in the car. You may have a bad resistor if you lose any speeds at all: Because this particular vehicle (the Durango) is known for melting connectors, you may require more than just the resistor.
It worked perfectly.
Perfect fit after following the instructions and removing an optional mounting tab on each side; in my Durango, this part is located under the dash board, mounted onto the AC duct, and only an 8 mm socket was required. It took me less than 2 minutes once I found the part's location. Don't overtighten the two mounting screws because they're going into plastic. br>Be aware that if the "squirrel cage" of the Blower Motor Assembly is obstructed by dust and leaf parts, you will need to keep replacing this Blower Motor Resistor until the Blower Motor Assembly obstruction is resolved. I purchased a new Blower Motor Assembly from Amazon for less than $50 and was able to resolve all of the issues.
