My 1996 Jeep Cherokee Classic XJ needed a replacement, and this was the perfect fit. br>br>By replacing this resistor, you can solve a common problem in which the blower motor will only run when the switch is set to 'High' and will turn off in all other settings (i. e. (Middle, Low). This is because on the High setting, the blower motor is powered directly by the battery (12V), while on the other settings, it is powered by the resistor. br>br>On my XJ, the resistor is attached to the blower motor housing in the passenger side foot well.
My blower motor was replaced, but there was still no air in the house. So I dug a little deeper and replaced the control behind the dash, which worked perfectly. Installing it was a breeze.
for a great price on a part that fit perfectly and was a great value.
This was purchased to correct the fan speeds on my 1993 Jeep Cherokee Sport. After doing some research online, I discovered that the fan's resistor had most likely blown. I ordered it for $7, and it was installed under the passenger side dashboard in ten minutes. I fired it up, and my multiple fan speeds were restored. Thank you, Amazon, for stocking this item.
It was only a short time. At first, it seemed to fit and work well. It only lasted three months before the second setting was lost. For an additional month, the third and fourth worked. The third setting is the only one that is "alive" and well at the moment. Fortunately, these are easy to replace, but I won't do it again with one of these!.
Exactly what I needed for my 1992 Jeep Cherokee XJ. The fan/blower could only be turned on or off previously. On the dash knob/switch, I have three settings: low, medium, and high. br>br>It's an exact match. It's that simple.
Only the highest setting of the fan worked. Excellent value for money.
Only a few days on the job.
