Selected User Reviews For Motorcraft YH-1700 Blower Motor Resistor

THIS IS THE ONE TO GET! It's all clear now! Okay, sports fans, here's the scoop, which probably applies to the majority of Rangers
5/5

When the resistor positions start to die out (hence you lose fan speed positions), I found a post by a Ford tech saying that there can be an underlying issue. This issue is that the blower motor becomes highly resistive over time and is or can be the cause of the resistor failing, which was true in my case. So changing out the resistor when you lose fan speed positions can just blow a new resistor, which I've heard from many people who say the new resistor only lasted a short time, so the moral of the story is to change out all of the corresponding components when you lose fan speed positions. A resistor, a new harness, a blower motor, and a selector switch are all needed. All of these parts came from a 2005 FX4 4. All of the parts cost around $100 for everything except the BM was motorcraft, which they wanted $160 for alone with 215,000 miles on it, so I definitely ran them well past their shelf life.

For the vent fan, it's a simple fix
5/5

It's relatively simple to set up. It was put in a difficult-to-reach location by Ford. Aside from that, it's attached to the wall with two 8 mm fasteners and a single electrical plug. The fan now runs at all speeds after being replaced.

It's ideal to set the blower to the highest setting
5/5

It was a cinch to use! My Ranger's blower was only working at one speed (high), so I had to fix it. br>This was a genuine Motorcraft part that fit perfectly.

Ford Ranger XLT 3
5/5

0L (2000 Ford Ranger). I used it in my Ford Ranger XLT 3 from the year 2000. Automatic transmission, 0L, 2WD, heat, and air conditioning. br>br>I had the highest blower setting on my heater all of a sudden, but after plugging this in, I was back to having all four heater fan speeds. It's been working perfectly for the past two months. Update: It's still working great a year later.

This is a fantastic product at an even better price! With motor craft, you can't go wrong
5/5

A corroded terminal was the only issue I encountered. Aside from that, it was a fairly straightforward process.
