On my 4runner, I was unable to find a low fan speed

I purchased two of these for my 1988 Toyota 4Runner. Both fans are now set to a low setting. Hooray!.

Buying original parts isn't always the best option

Two of the speeds burned out after a week with this resistor. The ceramic paste that was supposed to keep the coils apart cracked, allowing the coils to come into contact, reducing the blower's speed to two. I ended up purchasing a genuine Toyota part for around $15 from an online discount Toyota parts company, and it works flawlessly. Buying original parts is sometimes preferable, I suppose.
