Questions & Answers

Why do I have so many bushings, and how many do I use for each pin? What's the difference between the two? Does the nut go on top or bottom?

I bought two pins, but after replacing the top one, which was very worn, I decided that the bottom pin didn't need to be replaced. The door was in excellent condition. I received four bushings rather than the eight shown in the picture. I'm guessing those are two different sizes (each with four pieces) to fit various Ford applications. For my 1997 Lincoln Town Car, I got the proper ones. The nut is supposed to go on the bottom, but I got C clips instead of nuts, and you'd be hard pressed to get it out by the time the vertical striations under the head are seated. As a result, the C clip or nut at the bottom isn't required. I cut the old pin in the center with a dremel tool, just so you know. I pushed the top half up and out with a C clamp. To support the weight of the door, I used an engine lift, but a car jack (or a friend) would probably suffice just as well.

The hinge pins with assorted bushings are an excellent alternative to replacing the top and bottom door hinges entirely
5/5

Because the original pins in the hinges were not installed with threads and nuts (these replacements are threaded bolts with nuts), it was necessary to cut the original in half and remove it. A moderate level of skill, as well as a moderate level of logistical thought, are required, as well as 1- Success and a peaceful highway ride await you after 1 1/2 hours. These well-designed replacement hinge pins are well worth the money. Best of luck!.

This is an excellent set
5/5

It was a perfect fit. My 2003 Ford Windstar's door was drooping by about an inch. There's no need to beat them, heat them, or press them; all you have to do is slightly tape them together with a small hammer. After the job is completed, purchase some lithium grease aerosols and spray them, and you're ready to go. a finished item.

It really works

I installed this on a 2009 Ford Ranger. It was a little difficult to remove the old hinge pins, but the new ones were simple to install and work perfectly. It was a perfect match.

This is something I would never buy

The nut supplied for the shaft hits the bolt on the hinge and is very difficult to get on; it took a long time to get it on. If you need one, make sure the hinge shaft has a c clip or e ring.
