This is for Mercedes of this era's front doors, including the 190E. It could work on the back as well, but I'm not sure.

This part is only compatible with the 1981-2002 model years. Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class Coupe, 1983 Mercedes Benz 380SEL

Very well made, with a cover to keep water out of the mechanism. It is relatively simple to install, as with anything Mercedes, if you use the service manual and a few online forums. For me, the most difficult part was removing the 30-year-old door panel with all of its screws and clips.

This company apparently supplies Mercedes parts, so this is an OEM part; don't quote me on that, but it appears to be extremely heavy duty (it has to be to support the weight of a Mercedes door). The fit was excellent, and the installation was simple.
