Since it's designed for 4WD, but the bolt pattern is the same on a 4WD and 2WD steering box, I imagine it could be made to work. However, I have not personally tried it on any 4WD vehicle.

The kit is very nice and the quality is good. I could not get it to fit my 1984 K5 Blazer side bracket. There is an issue with the rounded end which interferes with the bumper bracket, so you have to cut it down You will also need some grade 8 7/16" coarse nuts and washers (you won't need them afterwards) to use with the factory steering gear bolts to impact the side plate into As the bracket conforms to the frame, it leaves a gap between it and the frame until you impact it together, then it is skip-welded. This repair came out great and my crack was at least 6 inches long and now it's Follow these tips To add stability, weld the horizontal cross members to the bottom of the frame where they intersect with the frame. The handling is now tighter.
I found this to be a good fit on my 1978 It did require some trimming on the top and bottom, but I was able to place it inside the frame rather than on the outside. This provides significantly more support and prevents the steering box from being out of alignment. Additionally, Several of the bolt holes were not aligned and required re-tapping Since they were too small for my steering box bolts, I had to drill two of them. I think the steering box has been good and will continue to support it. Here are photos of the project.
Thank you for manufacturing them! Since the bumper support bolts to the frame, I had to cut off one of the ears. As you can see in the pictures, it is there. The brake lines are also bolted to the inside of the frame, so I had to drill a hole there as well. Weld the bracket in place by clamping its center to the frame and then clamping the bracket to the frame. You will not be able to fit your steering box if not.
The frame of a 1986 K10 pickup was cracked from years of use by the stock steering box. This was welded in place by a machine shop, and I expect it to hold up I like the way it's.
It only took a bit of trimming to get the edges to look good. As a whole, I am very satisfied with how it turned out.
It does take a bit to convince the frame to form to the slot, but if installed correctly, it seems to work fine.
It has taken a little more time and fab work to get it working. It was my attempt to avoid fab work that led me to purchase this However, all in all it's a good day.
