Questions & Answers

Could this be used for an 82 CJ7 that does not ?

I was able to use it on my 82cj7 non-powered car Obviously you must have a tilt steering column to operate one, but if you've never done it before it can be tedious to install.

What is the fitment of this for a 1971 Cutlass without a tilt wheel?

There isn't one available for this vehicle with Dorman.

What type of fit does this have for my 91 Jeep Cherokee?

In any case, considering that many Cherokees came with GM steering columns, it doesn't seem unreasonable. Those parts are identical to those in the one I have apart at the moment

This rack fits square body non-round bodies With a SLIGHT Modification on the Tip Column C10 Square Body NON-MOTIVATED 1983 Chevy THE TILT COLLUMN
5/5

A DISCLAIMER follows! In my opinion, all nonpartisan organizations are in the right In the square bodies, the angle columns are the same from 73 to 82 It could be 83, but it is unclear to me! File off the excess casting material until it's flush with the toothed portion of the rack this only takes a few seconds. The device is too wide out of the box, and will not line up with the gear and fit in the channel. When it is thinner and subsequently removed, the material slides into the channel in the column and engages all of the positions (Acc, Off, Run, Crank) correctly. It doesn't appear that there are any parts specifically for the C10 Square body so I gave this a shot and it works great. The parts were held in a vice and I used just a metal file to file them. This took about 5 minutes. The task would be even quicker if an angle grinder was used. Here's some info I hope will help.

The exact replacement parts are available for the 1975 Chevy pickup
5/5

There is no modification necessary for the '75 Chevrolet pickup, except for a new wiring harness Although it is not listed as what it fits, it tilts the column. If the metal pin that mounts to the gear is still in the old gear, make sure to remove it. Using a small punch, lightly punch it out of the old gear, then tap it back gently into the steering column on all sides so as not to damage the tiny ball. Working with the roll pin over an object in which the pin will freely go over the ball and catch the shoulder. The new gear should be snapped on the pin and assembled.

I saved $1000 by doing this
5/5

When this part was removed, a broken key cylinder caused it to become damaged/worn. My Jeep CJ replacement was the same as the original, now I can get back on the road. That saved me from having to replace the steering column for $1000.

I would purchase a 1977 JEEP CJ5 again without a doubt! Used on a 1977 CJ5 for a non tilt manual steering column
5/5

I was able to do this with no problem! For a similar item, you can find it on eBay for $30 or more. This is a great price and a good product. It was one of the staples of most Saginaw GM columns used in a variety of different models. You can't go wrong with this one!.

I replaced the steering column of my 1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ (GM model steering column) with this fantastic product and it seems to be working very well.

An exact match with OEM is not possible
5/5

In this case, the kit has all that is required to effectively replace the steering wheel lock. The replacement rack part of an ignition lock should only be used if it is a perfect The steering gear does not fit 1970 Chevelle's although the sector gear is the same as on 1970 Chevelle's.
