Questions & Answers

Is this compatible with the Model 118?

No, I doubt it. For my 125, I need part GX21924BLE. GX20052BLE, I believe, is compatible with the L118.

For the D125, the wrong gear is used
3/5

The D125 sector gear connects to both front wheel control arms and has additional teeth where it connects to a right-hand control arm. Arm that controls the wheel. I went ahead and installed it anyway, and it significantly reduced the left-hand side-to-side distance. The mower's turning radius.

One year from the date of purchase: After one season, my Pinion gear broke down
3/5

After 70 hours (roughly one season of mowing for me), the sector gear teeth appear to be in good shape, but the pinion gear teeth (small gear) have worn down to the point of failure (no steering). It's made of low-strength steel, according to reports. So I used the same John Deere OEM parts to replace both gears. I placed my order with a nearby retailer. You'll save time if you do this. Buy OEM parts for an extra ten dollars.

It performs as expected
5/5

I was consuming pinion and sector gears at an alarming rate. The steering on the tractor was incredibly heavy. The grease fittings in the spindles had been plugged, as it turned out. The thing turns like a dream now that I disassembled the spindles and greased them manually. I'm hoping I won't have to buy another set of these for a long time.

Simple to set up
4/5

My John Deere Lawn Tractor, Model 145, had no problems with it. However, it is VERY IMPORTANT to keep your lawn tractor's spindles properly greased in order for it to function properly. Just wanted to give you a heads up on something.

It was as if it were made for you! I'm not sure if it's OEM, but it appears to be as good as, if not better than, the original

It was a perfect fit for my John Deere LA105. I'm able to control it now.

Replacement part from the factory
5/5

Make sure you get the when placing your order. Replacement part from the factory. Make certain you order the correct one for your mower when placing an order. My score was 125 out of a possible 100. They are available for both the L125 and the LA125. This was an excellent choice.
