These were purchased to go with the rear bump stops that I installed on my 2017 Ram Promaster 3500. They appear to be very effective in reducing body roll during curves and turns. They also appear to aid in the mitigation of high winds on interstates and the wind buffering caused by tractor trailers. br>br>Installation was quick and painless, taking about 15 minutes. Before starting the installation, I recommend reaming out the holes for the cable ties with a Phillips screwdriver. Once you've got them on the spring, the process becomes much faster. Also, before beginning installation, make sure to clean the Sumosprings with warm soapy water, as this will make the job much easier.
These increased front ground clearance (about 1/2") and improved the ride of my 2017 Dodge Ram 2500 based Class B RV (mtn road side-sway). Despite the fact that it feels more front- and back-bouncing, bumps should be kicked over They're worth it just for the extra clearance for the expensive RV equipment under the chassis, in my opinion; the ride effect is dependent on the roads one travels and the individual's preferences. When combined with the Sumo Rear Bump, these injunctions form a powerful combination. stop. I installed these in less than an hour by myself, but it took a lot of hand strength and several tries to get the coils on the passenger side to engage, but the instructions were clear. I'm not sure how long these will last because they're made entirely of polymer in a high-load area, but they do come with a limited lifetime warranty. 1 star because clearance and installation are inferior to the rear sumos.
Removal of the tire and shock is required! I read a lot of reviews on different websites, and they all say it's a pain to set up. That's something I'd like to second! Just so other Sienna owners can save some time, these "NO WAY" fit into the springs unless you remove your wheel and unbolt your rear shock. I spent the majority of my time on spring 1 because I figured that no matter how much soap, pushing, or yelling I did, it would still require more dissembling to fit. They slipped right in after the shocks and tire were taken off. Because we haven't yet towed our Pop Up Trailer, we don't know how well it will perform. br>br>FYIbr>the second spring took me about 15 minutes to install, with the majority of that time spent compressing the springs with a second jack so I could bolt it back onto the strut.
It took some effort, but I was able to install these springs on my 2012 Nissan Quest; I figure if a 66-year-old can do it, so can anyone else; however, reading other reviews, I see that other installations are not as simple. I did have to shorten the length of these, and I used zip ties other than those included in the kit. After installation, I noticed that the rear end was about an inch higher and that the handling and feeling of a road under the rear tires had improved. This kit has met my expectations, and I would not hesitate to purchase it again.
I was skeptical at first, but after seeing how many people are using on van conversions, I decided to give it a shot. After watching a lot of Sumo Youtube videos, I decided to install them and see what a difference they make. Driving improved 100% in Big Time! It was relatively simple to set up. It's just a matter of putting these rubber springs in the right spot. However, I did not use the Zip ties that came with the kit. Tech support told me that it wasn't necessary unless I was going off-road to extremes. I'm glad I picked these up for the Promaster in 2021. This is an excellent item.
I jack up the van from the front, one side at a time, on both rear corners of the front square engine cradle or crossmember behind the front wheels, using WD40 to lubricate the item before rotating it into the spring. The top section should be inserted first, followed by the bottom section. Before rotating the mount all the way up the spring, make sure the four slots on the mount face up to attach zip ties. Steering and ride quality have improved noticeably without sacrificing comfort.
In 2016, I installed the rear style, and it was a game-changer! When I saw that they were now available for the fronts, I immediately purchased them and installed them today. They continued with a little dawn dish soap after they had completely unweighted. With a suitable floor jack, start and finish in 30 minutes. Because the Trend is so heavy, I use a 3 ton! The PM3500 van isn't the only one that's big. I live in Colorado's mountains, so it's always uphill, downhill, and twisty!.
Sumos were installed in the front and back of a Roadtrek van camper, which was powered by a Ram Promaster 3500. They are certainly doable as a do-it-yourself project, but you will need a handyperson and a jack. The first one took more than an hour, and the remaining three took about half an hour each. On curvy roads, the van's (which is 9' 8" high) stability was noticeably improved. They also increased the front clearance by 1/2 inch and the back clearance by 1 inch. I believe the $420 price tag for both is a bit high, but it is well worth it for improved driving.
