A drop pitman arm of this quality would be highly desirable. The seal is excellent. It has taken grease well, and it has no issues. If your steering box has hydraulic lines and the steering shaft attached, you can move it around without taking up too much time. In order to fix this problem, you don't have to take the steering box out of the car. You will need to remove the three bolts that hold the steering box to the frame once you have removed the pitman arm from the Move the steering box around past the sway bar so that you can get a socket on the large nut holding it to the pitman shaft after removing the steering box from the frame. You can also attach a pitman arm puller when it is not in use. The nut needs to be torqued after you have put the new one on. The pitman arm ball joint needs to be installed in the drag link. Move your box around accordingly. Install the castle nut and move the steering box back to the frame rail. Use the large bolts to fasten the steering box to the frame rail. A 1999 Suburban 4x4 was used for this project.
To be on the safe side, I purchased this Arm and a new gear. In comparing the 2 arms, the AC Delco arm looked more robust, and the boot looked heftier! When I put the gear in, I found that the AC Delco arm was stronger. Rather than go with Moog, I installed the Delco one and used more of the Professional stuff they make instead! 1993 K1500 with Z71.
This fits perfectly. My 97 K1500 5 steering box was replaced with the original part. Initially, the pitman arm was stuck pretty hard in the gear box, so I cut a relief spot in the pitman arm with my angle grinder and tapped a chisel in the relief spot to crack the pitman arm, then the puller came out just fine.
Exactly what I needed for my 1994 Chevy 1500 steering box. I put it on my reman delco steering box and it worked well.
My 95 C1500 pickup with more than 200,000 miles is a perfect fit. The competitor's brand would not fit snugly on the shaft of the pitman. During the past few years, AC Delco has become much tighter. This part is of good quality at a reasonable price.
For less than 100 dollars, you can buy a full kit, but it's not as good as the one you will receive in the mail. During the first 4 months of wearing my pair, which I purchased 2 years ago, the rubber started to wear out. In this case, I have bought another truck and replaced the parts with high quality parts so that I can have a more stable ride. Make sure to add more grease to the fitting so it can last for a longer period of time. This is really a fantastic product I highly recommend.
A pitman arm box was apparently mounted with an idler arm. We are very unhappy with the state of the situation.
Our company ordered a lot of AC Delco Pro products. A replacement part for my steering system is needed. They all work, seem sturdy, were installed properly, and have appropriate rubber caps for the ball joints. I only had a complaint about the factory grease The other half had none of jone, as well as half of the parts with next to it. Get rid of the stock grease and replace it with some decent grease by taking advantage of the grease points.
