There is very little information here that is useful. There are some topics that it does go into in depth, but most of them are common sense. The information I would have really liked, such as torque values, fastener size/tools needed, etc, was not included. I am not really sure for whom this is written. A pro won't need any of this. For someone like myself who is a DIY'er, nothing of this is required. I have since downloaded the Bentley Manual, a book which actually seems to be written for people with brains, just not brains capable of processing this information. In spite of the fact I feel the Bentley manual is healthier than this one, I have found that Google and YouTube are invaluable when repairing.
There are no secrets of BMW in this book. It is always a pleasure to have a Haynes and they never let me down when it came to doing the Being that it's a BMW, it's interesting to read. It's a real shame they left out so much. It would seem BMW paid HAYNES to withhold information that can be used to diagnose and locate sensor problems and other problems that can affect the vehicle. In this manual, you'll find the basics your car manual has in the glove box. It is important to know how to start your Here is where the battery is located.
The mechanical areas of the car are all covered. It would be great if some of the features were explained a little bit more in depth, but figure out a way to work the money for us who do.
My M54 engine (330I) had a damaged valve in the head. I bought this to fix it. are few instructions on how to work on an engine. There is an error in the directions for torqueing the head bolts, and doing so would cause damage. The book is a good resource for people looking for instructions on how to do basic maintenance and repairs, but it is not a guide on how to work on an engine. For the engine work I was going to have to buy the Bentley Manual, so I will keep the manual as a secondary reference.
Books like these have a great impact on me. It's true that sometimes the pictures are a bit disconnected and the instructions are a bit A good book can be used for pretty much anything you need it to. This manual covers 95% of what you will need for the price, and I've used it for a number of Hondas and Fords. You can get the 'real' service manuals for more money of course, but this one gets you most of what you will need.
This picture and description collection offers a good reference for technical specifications from the past. You can add it to YouTube as a complement.
He has helped me repair my BMW in a timely manner.
It's not quite a Bentley Books manual, but it is several steps ahead at the price. As the shade tree mechanic will find this a must-have, but not a copy that can be used by a restorer due to its quarter price of Bentley and a tenth of the price of a set of factory CDs.
