Questions & Answers

How do people purchase this product? Why do they buy this product? Stopping at low speeds and stalling at stops are both happening for me. You will not find codes here. Engine runs great for a while then shuts down suddenly. ?

There is a reduced engine power code displayed on the I might need to research more since my car stalled while driving and not when it came to a stop. It was an easy fix, though.

This part should fit an escalade ext with motor 6 from an 04 model. ?

As for the 5, yes, this works. The number 3 and the number 6 are also numbered

What kind of sensors are supposed to be inside?

The motor in this piece controls the electronics that are used to calculate the gas pedal's fuel flow. The wires are connected to the piece connected to the gas pedal, which provides both signal and voltage. This particular accelerator runs through the old type of cables, manual operated accelerators run through the ECM of the computer. We have found this component to be the one that goes bad most often and causes the vehicle to idle only. Because it is exposed to such a wide range of heat throughout its life, I believe that is the reason for its poor performance.

Installs without a hitch
5/5

A few days ago, I faced the dreaded "decreased engine power" situation and connected my reader to find it said the error was with the throttle actuator control (TAC) system By the hood spring on the driver's side, it mounts to the firewall as a small brain box. Due to Amazon's inability to ship that part to CA for unknown reasons (despite the fact that I have used it for 13 years straight in CA), I purchased that part from Rock Auto. Apparently the installation was straightforward, but then I saw additional videos where folks said that they did the same thing and the problem returned. It seemed like the TPS was the actual culprit. As such, I grabbed this TPS retrofit kit from Amazon and installed it (didn't remove the throttle body as most videos show The purpose is probably to clean). Air intake was removed There are two hose clamps that are 5/16" nut driver. As the new wiring harness has all white (16 gauge) wires, I took photos of the current wiring harness configurations for the 20 gauge wires. A shrinky-dink sheet was used It's S21. Amazon) to connect, using doubled-up SSL It is 400. The book is also on The mechanical crimping on stuff like this, even when it comes with a butt connector, does not appeal to me. Connected the first wire and allowed it to cool, then moved the wire out of the way after it cooled. Repeated this seven times for all of the remaining wires, matching their positions with the old Next, we had to drill out the rivets on the existing TPS to remove it from the I used countersink bit (because I had one, which allowed me to drill x4 a little more access than I could with a 3/8" drill bit) and needle nose pliers to hold the backside while drilling. A foil cover was used to make sure that drill cuttings would not enter TBI. The old TPS has been removed and I have noted the alignment of everything inside so that I can ensure that the new one is in the same place. Having pulled off the rubber gasket on the throttle body, we then removed the old throttle body. It was replaced and bolted on using the 7 mm hardware that was provided. Plugging into the new connector was a bit tight, so I put a bit of wire lube on the male connector side and it went right in. I reinstalled the air intake, turned on the ignition and attempted to start the engine, but it didn't work. I figured the electronics might need some time to "refresh. ". The key was turned off, then the engine started right up. I'm very pleased to report that everything is working smoothly now, and it looks like the shift is a little more snug. Before the new TPS, the trans held on to 1st and 2nd gears until about 2550 rpm, and it was hard to The engine is now letting go at about 2000 rpm, resulting in smoother acceleration and shifting. It seems smoother now, even though I'm not sure if TPS is directly linked to shift points. Even with earlier TAC replacements, it took me less than an hour to do by myself, and was definitely more cost-effective than having a shop do it. It would appear the shop would tell you that a new TBI is necessary (duh).

The replacement of this part has become routine
3/5

I have replaced it on my 2003 GMC 2500HD 6 many times over the years. Gas with a volume of 0L. In the past one year, I purchased one TPS sensor from Amazon. In the past two years, I purchased two TPS sensors from Amazon. What I learned from a lot of reading, research, and talking to mechanics is as follows. Compared to the TPS sensor on my truck today, the original TPS sensor was of higher quality when my truck was built. combination of the ECM and the TPS sensor made by AC Delco, which are factory installed, lead to superior engine performance. As of today, the TPS sensors and throttle bodies are made in China for Dorman and others. These sensors and bodies are not high quality and the contacts inside the TPS wear out too quickly, causing abnormal voltage output and, in turn, the reduced power mode to trigger. To replace the original AC Delco part, a high quality part needs to be made to the same specs and metals as the original. The NGK company is now supposed to offer a more reliable and high-quality product made in Japan at a price 3,200 times the price. Next, I will probably get rid of the truck or try that.

The cost of repairs is a tenth of the usual OEM dealer rates
5/5

We have solved the problem! Several times this past year, on my 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 with six cylinders, the P1516 code came up repeatedly. A V8 with a capacity of 0L. Occasionally, it could go six months without a problem, but then it could occur three times in a five The problem usually occurs when it is cold out and I have not warmed up the engine. I've had it for a number of years now. As I read reports of people spending $600 and over to get it fixed, I didn't want to take it in to the dealer. Since the OEM wiring harness cost $200+, I wasn't excited to buy it. I spent under $60 to do this, and it was very simple. A kit containing the wiring pigtail as well as the sensor, the sensor gasket, 4 bolts, and heat shrink crimp connectors is included. They can be shrunk simply by heating them up with a cigarette lighter. It is not necessary to solder as someone suggested, and there is no need to purchase the gasket that is recommended on Amazon. In order to receive the codes and clear them, I have been using the free bluetooth ap that comes with my Android phone called "Torque. ". will also need to buy the sending unit, which will cost It is now okay for me.

The 2006 Chevy Silverado SS 6 requires an exact fit
5/5

The product fits 2006 Chevy Silverado SS models with a 0 cylinder engine. In the first place, you do not need to purchase any screws or gaskets once you purchase In addition, I would suggest replacing the sensor rather than the connector first. Make sure you remove the rivets carefully so you don't cause any damage to the throttle body. If there are metal shavings on the rivets, be sure to vacuum them up. In about two weeks, I replaced a sensor typically, the code will pop up in about three weeks. I will let you know if cold returns.

A problem in my 2003 Suburban was fixed
5/5

The idle of my suburban fluctuated intermittently when I turned on the A/C (while at a standstill). Usually, the RPMs ranged from 350 to 400 A stall would sometimes occur on a car with a 500 horsepower engine. Following suggestions I read online, I removed the throttle body, cleaned it and replaced the throttle position sensor with this one from Dorman. The truck now runs so smoothly it now has no idle fluctuation and a crisp throttle response. Before you remove and clean the throttle position sensor, or just replace it, let me add a little bit of information. Make sure you disconnect the battery terminals before you do this so the computer can reset This will cause your computer to learn the idle again, and may lead to your engine idle being a bit high. In my case, I had no problem whatsoever with my computer after I disconnected it for an hour to ensure it cleared.

Part did not fit my 2003 GMC Sierra 1500
3/5

I returned it for a replacement. It was a bit of a pain after I had already drilled the rivets to learn the item was slightly different than what I had The nuts and bolts I needed to put it back together were nowhere to be found. It turned out to be a plus out of this whole event that since I already had the sensor off, I decided to clean it with WD40 after putting it back together, and since then my truck has not had REP. I have attached a picture of the inside of mine, notice that the 2 pins are further apart in comparison.
