Youtube had a video you could watch that explained exactly how the motor should be replaced. This is the one I bought. Fit perfectly in the space previously occupied by the old one. About 45 minutes were needed to replace and refit Make sure that the window wipers are aligned. Getting all of the other components off in order to get to where to install the motor took the most time. It sounded like the motor was locked up when I switched on the window wipers. What a duh! Plugging in the motor was something I forgot to do. Once you have double checked everything, you can return to business as usual. It works perfectly so far. I am unsure how long this motor will last but so far it has been a pleasure.
I ordered an identical replacement part for my 1989 Chevrolet C3500 and it fits perfectly. I would recommend it. Despite the look, this is the new style and it fits the SE pattern of plugs and bolts. After I turned off the wipers, they continued to stop randomly in random places, but now they stop completely. There is a whine to it that makes it more loud than the original. The rest of the offer is great as well.
I installed it on a full size Chevy Blazer 1993 with no problems. It wasn't a problem for me to put on acrylic nails as a woman.
I decided to go with the entire assembly rather than just the control board after seeing several videos on You Tube. I spent less than 30 minutes on the job and it was completed seamlessly. It has not caused any problems since its installation.
Product is good except the control board is on a loose hinge and needs to be removed and weather sealed. As a whole, everything works as it should.
the old motor with this one and now the wipers turn on. I previously heard a buzzing noise when the wipers didn't turn on. It happened sometimes that my wipers moved and sometimes that they didn't. Since then, I have had a 100% success rate with my wipers.
As soon as I reconnected the battery following the installation of the motor. Two things happened I couldn't get the wipers to work, and I noticed that the dash lights didn't go off when I turned the switch off, which fried my new & improved vehicle. An ignition system for 175 vehicles. I currently do not only have no serviceable wipers, I have to fight with the parts stores to have them replace it, and if not that means even more money out of my pocket, plus the work I will lose because this is my only truck and this is my company truck.
I was pleased with the fitment in my 1994 GMC and a little cheaper than our local parts department. Taking the bus saved me gas, and most importantly, it saved me money on groceries.
