Questions & Answers

When installing a new actuator unit, what is the process for removing the old rod and transferring it to it? What if the rod is included in the package? A new rod is not shown in the picture. ?

Despite the difficulty in removing the rod from the bad unit and transferring it to the new, I managed to do it easily. Remove the three original bolts holding the unit in place proved to be the most challenging task. Otherwise you will have to drill it out because the end of the bit will strip.

I was able to fix the problem with my door lock with this part

If it were not for the fact that the door opens less smoothly than the factory part that was broken, I would've given it a 5. I am satisfied with the purchase and the price was good. Depending on how often you open it, it could start opening smoother after a while. I replaced the old one with this one, and it's just a little harder to open. I find that transporting the old part out of the way and disconnecting it from all the wiring is the most difficult part of the installation.

I used it on the rear passenger door and it worked perfectly. Cable attachments are made of plastic and can break if not handled carefully. The door lock will not be able to be removed without super glue, so slide it out and adhere it to the plastic connector.

I was very pleased with the performance of the part It was a good choice to substitute an actuator. We could have used the old lever - I found the OEM to be better, although you need to reuse the cover from the original part. But it did work, all in all. We can't reach the actuator because it's so hard to reach!.

Since it was installed a month ago, it has been working fine. It is important to remember not to throw out the old actuator cover with the weatherproofing, as you will need it in the future.
