We are not going to use this latch. This is not a good idea. I have had it for about a month, but every now and then, the rear latch would not make a good connection and the door ajar light would flash intermittently. In this case, the alarm would go off. A junk latch causing an alarm to go off in the middle of the night when camping in Yellowstone doesn't make for an enjoyable experience. It appears that after the return window closes, the latch will no longer work, and the window will not open again. The Toyota parts were ordered and they are now installed. A Toyota cable is two times as thick as a standard cable. Make yourself a favor and do not purchase this cheap garbage. It would be nice if you could return this rubbish to me. I recommend that you do not buy this!.
As you can see, the original part is exactly the same. There was a problem with the cable Despite the seller's apology and prompt delivery, it never arrived. A brief update Worked for two months and then stopped. There was no longer an opening in the door. Install was a waste of time Having to start over is not an option.
I needed this part replaced after my rear hatch stopped working after 6 months In this case, you will have to take the back door apart from the INSIDE of the vehicle as you can imagine this is a difficult task. This part broke up into two pieces within seconds of being dismantled As you can see, the two pieces in the photo are meant to be one unit. It appears to be not satisfactory that the manufacturer attaches them with a spot welding that is as small as I've ever seen. Consequently, it is time consuming to repair because of this poor quality. Rather than wasting time and energy on a substandard part, buy a better one.
The warranty was the reason I purchased it. I have probably opened the back lid 8 times over the past 2 months. When I had a flat tire today, I couldn't open the rear door to let the tire down, so I had to cut part of the door off on the side of the road to get access to the tire. I'm not sure what the contact us page is, but it's some overhead door company in Pennsylvania. It's garbage.
I found this to be a great fit and it worked In order to flip the latch, you need to make sure the handle is not bent when you install it. There have been other reviews claiming the cable is the wrong length, when in fact In most cases, the problem is that the fitting that pulls the cable on the handle of the tailgate has been bent that caused the gate not to.
It was my first time purchasing this part from an unknown distributor (Will it work? Are you going to categorize it If I got it quickly, how long would it take? There could not be a better feeling),
I could not As time goes on, we will find out if the workmanship will hold up, but it seems to be of higher quality so we have high hopes. Our appreciation goes out to you for your excellent service and we look forward to doing business with you again.
Only a few screws need to be replaced during installation, and it took me less than an hour.
