See if you can find a YouTube video that interests you. With the right tools and the right attitude, you can perform this job in about 30 minutes at most.
I did this in about 30 minutes, but I had to remove the door panel twice because I forgot to reconnect one of the harnesses. Here is what you will need There is a 10mm socket with a long extension and a Torx bit (I think it's a T25, it's fairly large)*a small flat screwdriver and a plastic pry bar. The bar is made from bicycle tire remover (I used it). Light your flashlight at night (yes, even during the day) to enter into the bedroom, before removing the door panel from the door by removing three 10mm bolts hidden behind plastic covers, several pop clips around the sides, and lift it off the door. Remove switches from the door panel and the connectors, and disconnect how the wires are attached to the A total of six points attach the actuator to the actuator The door is held in place with four Torx bolts and three metal rods as well as the pull cord and I am concerned. You can see better if you drop a flashlight into the bottom of the door. *br* - When you are lost, you will be able to remember how everything is attached if you take a picture of the actuator in the door. *br* - I would like to suggest that, following this process, that you first disconnect the rod attached to the yellow clip (hint the clip opens by pushing the tab to the outside *br* - Remove the key from the rod and then reattach it. Remove the actuator from the device but don't try to unhook it. A red plastic clip is attached to the top of the rod, and that clip can be removed by pushing the rod to I am - Using the torx bits, remove the nuts. *br* - It's now possible to unclip the pull cable and the wiring harness by moving the actuator around inside the door. A red plastic tab controls the release of the wiring harness. Slide it up to release the harness. In addition to the key lock rod and the one leading up to the lock indicator, two rods will still be connected to the actuator. The door should be emptied of all items. The following steps can be taken to *br* - The new actuator must be attached with the key lock rod and lock indicator rod - Attach the key lock rod to the red clip back to the lock indicator rod and slide the rod into place in the door. *br* - A strong plastic cable pull and the wiring harness should be attached. The actuator should be mounted on the door with the torx bolts - The door handle rod should be attached to the yellow clip
The cable pull and all wiring harnesses need to be reattached to the door panel.
Six months into my employment, I quit. It is my truck that I take care of so it does not see rough treatment. The factory part should have been purchased.
GM vehicle door locks are prone to failure, so I was thrilled to find this reasonably priced aftermarket substitute There were no issues with fit or performance on my drivers side lock. It was made up of identical clips and connectors. I saved a lot over dealer prices because of this deal. Owners of the Chevy Silverado 1500 should be aware of the following In addition to not working door locks, you might also have a bad instrument cluster fuse panel that has 2 relays soldered in place. Most likely, these are To fix the clicking relay problem on the drivers side dashboard as well as to operate my key fob I had to replace this replacement lock and the small fuse block on the dashboard. Even though it sounds frightening, we can easily replace it. I believe it is easier to replace than locate a new relay and solder it in.
Mine lasted six Next, the door sensor failed (which was the problem with the oem unit, but it lasted for In this case, GM chose poorly in terms of architecture, but then again, you get what you pay for. I would not recommend it.
Like most people, I dislike buying items like this that look like knockoffs. At the time, I figured it was fiscally prudent to purchase the factory GM unit rather than the aftermarket one since I couldn't obtain it for less than $200. This is an opportunity too good not to take advantage of. This will be worth its price if it keeps functioning properly for a year.
That said, it has a pretty close fit and form to a factory product. It worked right out of the box and I had no problems installing it. I have had no regrets regarding the purchase thus far.
My door latches have malfunctioned for years and I finally ordered replacements when I realized that it was time to do so. I took several hours to complete the task since I wasn't really sure how to take doors apart. Installs quickly and is fairly easy to use however, I will give it one con The locking lever is encased in an orange plastic bracket that is not firmly attached. As a result, I used the old door latches' bracket, and it worked fine. Apart from that, I've had this door latches installed for over 6 months, and I'm happy with it.
Exactly what I was looking for for my 2009 Chevrolet Malibu! This product has been working well for the last 3 months, and it was a great deal for the price.
As for the part, it was the same as mine. I saved $100 with this and it worked great.
There's no need to change anything because it's All my crazy problems with the door locks, the light, and the radio are fixed now.
