Questions & Answers

Do you think it will work on 2 stroke engines?

There is a table included in the included instructions demonstrating how to set the switch on the back of the unit to work with either 2 strokes or 4 strokes.

Does this work with an Evinrude 90 hp from 1990? How are you?

In regards to my 2000 Evinrude, I checked with the seller to see if it was possible to convert it to a 2 stroke. After he dropped the phone, he walked over to the stock shelf and pulled the unit out there was an adjustment on the back for 2 or 4 strokes. Once I got it, I was able to set it up easily and it worked correctly from the get-go. You shouldn't be scared of this unit because it's easy to use.

To connect the engine to the generator, how do I do it?

In general, it doesn't take much time. To find the wires that connect to the rear of the tac, you need to look in your engine manual. Wire colors vary from engine to engine. If you are looking for them in the remote control harness, look at the engine remote.

Inboard motors can it be used?

In brief, yes. With an inboard outboard, I used it.

There were instructions included, and installation was easy
5/5

There were instructions included, and installation was easy. This gauge looks pretty similar to the one on the Mercury Verado I was replacing on the exception of the "Q" at the bottom. As the boat had been out of the water for the winter, I was unable to test this out immediately, but I did change the oil in the motor and it started after being placed in a 55 gallon drum cut off. Having the ability to see the engine parameters on my fish finder, I was able to compare the rpm reading on the new tach with the readout on the fish finder, and they both read the same. I am pretty happy with the There was definitely a need to provide Measured by gauge body diameter (3. 25"), it has the following specifications. Although a description stated that 875) were in the device, this one seemed reasonable. A second problem is that sellers do not seem to take photos of the electrical connections on the back of their products, so we can compare what we have and what is being sold. For a buyer, being able to compare one product to another would be incredibly valuable. All of the data on the Mercury gauge appears to be the same as the one used in this replacement, so it must have been from the original manufacturer.

The year 1981 had 50 hours

There is a Johnson 2 stroke engine. For some reason, it took me a little while to figure out how to set that up, There was no reference in the instructions to Johnson 2 stroke). I had been using the 5 pole setting for my motor. I run a wire from the tach to the motor and hooked it to one of the 3 outputs on the stator. The reading seems correct, and I believe it may even be accurate to a few hundred rpm. If you are serious about measuring the rpm of your motor, you need something external from the tach to do this. As with the other Sierra gauges that I have purchased, the tach looks great and is well built.

A total of less than 1 day of work was done At the dock, it worked fine
3/5

It was installed and it worked properly. A baked good). The packaging has been thrown away, so I'll have to swallow the $55. Sierra surprised me a little bit more than I expected. I have updated We never did remove the tach, and it started working yesterday (months after it failed). It could have just been in need of a shakeup? Considering how I solder all of my connections, it is unlikely that it was wiring, but you never know. A tentative 3 stars is being added to the rating.

The clock works now, looks good, and matches the rest of the hardware
5/5

When the last tachometer was dead, it would just reach 4000 rpm and then drop as engine rpm increased, but this one works well. This 1995 Mercruiser 7 is powered by Mercury engines. For a V-style engine, setting four points (4 pistons) is used, eight cylinders (8 cylinders). It has an eight-stroke engine. Grey wires from the negative side of the coil are connected to the send terminal on the back of the gauge, and this is how the tachometer is powered.

This is perfect
5/5

My 2005 Mercury 2 Stroke 125 HP used this product without a problem. Make sure you follow the directions that are There were a few modifications I had to make to the harness at tach and the connectors, but it was a perfect fit. Compared to the original tach that was replaced, this one looks better.

The design is sleek and accurate

I had no trouble installing this tachometer. However, on the back, I had to just do the calibration job to match my factory set idle speed, but it was really Run down the lake with confidence once it has been wired up and your bracket is on!.

I like how it turned out. There is no need to space the terminals in close proximity though you must insulate the.

I find this to be very useful
4/5

I hooked it up and it worked great, and the backlight could be seen in shaded daylight. The instructions are clear, and the product appears to be of good quality. The only complaint I have is the required hole size, which is I encourage you to get "43" I would like to make The equivalent is "375" or "3". There are two standard hole saw sizes, 5" and 7".
