Only if you put some kind of resistor on it, but mine was too bright at night, so I put 35% tint over it and’s fine.
All this means is that the pressure where your vacuum line is connected is lower than atmospheric pressure. If you live in a high-altitude area, a reading like this is normal. However, I'm assuming your vacuum system is a little older.
It was in psi when I purchased it. I'd type in psi to ensure you don't end up with one that only reads bar. It should also be able to read up to 30 pounds per square inch.
BPV or BOV are commonly used as vacuum sources.

The only drawback is that the water temperature is displayed in Fahrenheit while the oil temperature is displayed in Celcius, which is a little confusing. When viewing, the colors should match. I'd give their gauges a five-star rating if I could order the oil temperature in Fahrenheit as well. They perform admirably, are precise, and are easy to read at a glance in any light thanks to the dial and digital display. I've installed several sets of their oil temp, water temp, oil pressure, and turbo boost gauges, and the first thing my customers say is how nice they look, followed by why did I install the oil temp in Celsius, which no one likes but there is no other option for that gauge, which is unfortunate. This has led to several of my clients opting for a different brand of gauge so that both the water and oil temperatures are displayed in Fahrenheit.
Nice bright with mutable colors to choose from the digital part is a set blue color and that part does not turn off the only way to turn it off is to unplug the wires from the battery or put a switch in it somewhere I believe it's causing my battery to drain and it's not dimmable the instructions are confusing but here's a simpler way to put it green from the boost gauge gets connected to the green from the boost gauge sensor and the black from the boost gauge sensor (You'll need to run a wire from the - terminal to the + terminal) & The red from both the sensor and boost gauge gets hooked to a wire from the terminal, and then you splice your T into the desired place on your vacuum line and run that inside your car as well to the boost denote, and the sensors send an electronic signal to the boost gauge itself, and that's how it measures the boost not a bad price for what it is but I've only had it a few days so we'll have to see how long it lasts.
This gauge, like the oil gauge, has a very bright display that needs a dimmer, and the digital jumps around a lot, making it too touchy to use, but you get used to it. Place a piece of 35% film over it and it is now safe for night driving. The oil gauge is dead, no reading, and the needle still moves every now and then. I suspect the sender, but they don't sell them separately. Done!.
What a colossal squandering of resources. The '0' reading would be different every morning before the engine was started - After two weeks, it snapped - and I couldn't read vacuum any longer - Vac would appear as a jumble of numbers, with the outer bar graph illuminating only the gauge's other segments. Moreover, the boost pressure reading was erratic, sometimes being off by as much as 0. 7 - 5 psi - This is for you if all you need is some blinkenlight to show 'boost' on your stock turbo vehicle - Look somewhere else if you want a precise reading!.
I've had it since October, and it's still going strong and showing no signs of wear. The gauge consistently displays the same readings. And, as far as I can tell, it is correct. I would strongly suggest it. The only drawback is that it isn't dimmable, but you can still use the digital readout if the background lights are turned off.
The lighting is simple to adjust. The room is light and airy. For the price of 32 dollars, everything about it is fantastic. It also included tubing and a pressure sensor, which is always a plus. The box contains everything you'll need to finish it. The digital reading is fantastic. In general, I would recommend this for sim racing or your car. Simply press the black button on the bottom front of the gauge, which appears to be an odometer reset button, to change the colors.
On YouTube, look up "RobertDIY's" volvo tutorial. br>It was easy to set up, and the device looks and functions well.
There was nothing wrong with my purchase, and I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived well ahead of the estimated delivery date. The product, on the other hand, is a complete waste of money. My analog needle flickered and then gave false readings after about a week. My gauge's digital component is still operational and precise. At this point, however, multiple LEDs on the gauge are beginning to flicker and fail.
