One of my nylon hoses weighs close to one pound and is about The engine blew up at a junction (there was so much smoke coming off the headers that I thought I had blown up the engine). The nylon oil line had broken, but it was not anything serious. In addition, I moved the block connection with a cable extender I found on Amazon (since the block connections are hard to get to on a 289). I am pleased with how everything turned out. It's much easier to read the gauge without a junction in the line from the sender (the source connection really) to the gauge. There is nothing to worry about.
