Ignore the whiners who complain about little things. The best patty whack I've ever had. In my 1991 Sierra with a 5 digit gauge, I have a temp gauge. Regardless of what replacement sensors read, the 7L 350 stopped working and refused to stay alive. I decided to just go ahead and buy it anyway. It is honestly the probe that is the worst part of the whole thing. There's a danger of going through a massive hole in the firewall to get to the temp probe, but as long as the hole can be sealed and covered after installation, it's not a deal breaker. It's a bit meh that's included in brackets. I've tested it, and it Despite the fact that the gauge has a different white temperature than the rest of the Equus gauges for some reason, the bulb is replaceable, so I guess I can't complain too much. It is not a big deal if you change the bulb. I don't understand why people are acting like this completely invalidates the gauge when, like others have pointed out, it stays "stuck" at the bottom and gets hotter only while the engine is hot. Is there any point in knowing whether the temperature of the coolant is below 100 degrees? If it doesn't start reading until a few degrees warmer, what's the point? works great, and it works really well. Since I installed it quite a few months ago, I haven't encountered any issues. Please note Tl Some people are making more of a fuss about the bracket and needle being "stuck" at 0 until the engine warms up a little (under 100°f) before it starts to read. I am pleased with it. If you need a good gauge, purchase this. In the future, I intend to buy more to use for.
A gauge will occasionally fail to climb like it should once in a while. all of a sudden a reading appears. There's a bug where it keeps falling back to If it does that, you're not getting very good quality. In other words, it appears to run fine except for that.
A 1965 Mustang has been my pride and joy. It began displaying 3/4 instead of half when I bought it. Then, after some work, the overheating issues were resolved, and it began reading 3/4 instead of half half way through a tour. rodding the radiator, replacing the sensor, and looking at a few other things, I decided to install the temperature gage to be sure the temperature was what it should be. The thermostat housing fitted right into the provided fitting and easily installed inside the engine compartment (the plug in the top of the thermostat housing had to be removed first however). The discovery now is that I spent too much money on a new gage when the old one was still working perfectly. A very good repair at a very reasonable price. The only downside about it is that it needed painting.
There has to be a fairly large hole drilled in the firewall for the tubes to fit.
Although the product worked well, I was disappointed because it did not come with any metric adaptors, which I had to order In light of the fact that there are two SAE adapters included with a universal gauge, you would think it would come with more than two. I was happy with how well the installation worked after I was able to complete it.
I find the work cord to be short. There is no way to extend the thermometer when using a mechanical one.
Design that is well thought out. It works well and is well made. Anyone looking for an alternative reading of their vehicle's temperature (or in the event that there is a problem with the gauge or sensor in your vehicle) should go with this type of gauge.
