Do you really need an external shunt for the 10A version? Most 10A meters use an internal shunt, despite the fact that the faceplate on that one does not say so. ?

I use this meter on my model railroad track. I have a shunt in line, but due to the low amp, it is not necessary. 1 to 3 amps on average I took it out, and the meter now functions normally.

For this meter, what kind of shunt is required?

A shunt with a current of 30 amps and a voltage of 75 millivolts. There should be four terminals on the shunt. The smaller ones near the center are for the meter, while the larger ones on the shunt's outside are for the source and load.

This is a massive accomplishment. Thought it was smaller because it was in a plastic case (which appeared to be tough) and the glass was also plastic. is extremely sensitive, which is a good thing. But man, it's huge. It's almost like a Frankenstein dial, switch flipping, and prop huge. (steam punk fantasy prop) Will use in a future build (was hoping to modify for an OHM meter, but it was too big).
