Disassembly is a breeze. 2 screws. Two more screws are required to remove the face. The original scale is hand-painted on a sturdy piece of aluminum. In my case, I printed a new scale on peel-and-stick paper and adhered it to the back of the old one. One point to keep in mind for users: Instead of 100 ohms, the armature resistance is 158. So, if you're replacing an old meter or making a cook book, you might need to make some adjustments to account for the significant errors that this wildly different armature resistance can cause.

These meters are simple old-fashioned meters with four mounting studs on the back and screw terminals, as well as screws, nuts, and washers. I prefer things to be the way they were many years ago.
