Matt, it can show you the incoming voltage as well as the amperes you're using with all of your connected equipment.
Hello Greg, I have two of these and use them in my home stereo.br>It is well built and I leave it on 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If you're buying it for sound improvement/quality, save your money (didn't notice a difference)br>If you're buying it for power failures, spikes, and extra outlets, fantasticbr> If that's the case, the cheaper one would probably work finebr>but the one you're looking at has the amp meter, which is nice to see how much power you're drawing.
This one is built to last - The power switch even gave a satisfying *kchnk*. Rather than being a one-time fix, this unit feels like a long-term investment in the studio.
No, it won't happen. When the voltage exceeds 140 volts, it is designed to shut down. According to the manual, the operating voltage should be between 90 and 120 volts. 139V. The Furman will not transmit power to its connected devices if it is outside of that range.

equipment at the finish line I purchased a smaller Furman unit to protect my water ionizer from power spikes and voltage drops, and it has proven to be very effective. This unit was purchased to safeguard a small but complex computer setup that included multiple monitors and sensitive processing equipment. This won't be used in the traditional sense; instead, it'll be used to protect the coding and programming rig I built. The unit is unique in that it features dual LED lights that can be dimmed, pulled out, and repositioned. This isn't a feature I'll use, but it's nice to have in case I come up with something else in the future. You won't go wrong with this name brand because these units are built to last.
My barefoot footprints, which I leave on 24 hours a day, were saved from an outage thanks to the PL Plus DMC; lesson learned, I'll turn them off every night, but the PL Plus DMC saved them. The device, however, now displays a voltage range of 108 to 132 volts. It's now at 136, and it'll turn off at random. I'm not sure if the unit has been damaged as a result of the outage, or if the wiring in my house has been fried in some way. Regardless, the utility energy company may need to fix something on their end. The furman performed admirably and did exactly what it was supposed to do: protect my pricey equipment from irreversible damage. However, I wish it had built-in AVR. I agree that the P1800AR is overpriced, but I understand why. I'll give it five stars for safely shutting down my monitors at least three times since the outage began.
I'm in charge of a few acoustic groups, and we do a lot of outdoor parties at people's houses. I try to get power from the laundry room, but it's iffy because clients are concerned about the cables passing through their flower beds, etc. br>br>Anyway, one night I turned on my amp, and smoke poured out of my custom-made speaker! We have a strong PA, which is fortunate for me. Even better, because I'm an endorser, I was able to get a great deal on a new driver as long as I installed the speaker myself. br>br>After that ordeal, I realized I needed to invest in a power conditioner. The voice coil was most likely blown out by a voltage spike. You are aware of the fact that When you turn it on, do you hear a little pop? It was most likely a power surge with a lot more than just a pop! br>br>This unit is capable of absorbing almost any surge. Plus - It has both a voltmeter and an ammeter, so you can check the line voltage as well as see how many amps you're drawing. It also appears to filter some of the common line noise and eliminates the need for those annoying power strips that always get in the way. It has enough plugs to accommodate our two PAs, mixer, two amps, wireless receivers, and other equipment. br>br>The best part? I have no idea what time it is! There isn't even a smidgeon of POP! I felt guilty about spending so much money, but it's for insurance purposes. It's pointless to get anything less when you consider the equipment it protects.
I recently purchased some new higher-end stereo components, and it was suggested that I also purchase a power conditioner while researching these items. I was initially skeptical because I couldn't see how such a small item could make a difference. I experimented with the new components without a conditioner at first, and they sounded fantastic. After that, I made the decision to purchase this item. It's hard to believe, but it appears to work. It's subtle, but it seems to take the edge off the music and make it sound a little cleaner. As an added bonus, it also serves as a surge protector for a variety of devices, and it also happens to look pretty cool.
Definitely reduces noise within the line voltage; I could tell a difference. I'm glad my noise ceiling has been reduced even further, as my music now sounds even better. I liked this conditioner a lot, except for one thing: it was a little too strong. The lights on this model were a nice touch because it's dark where this equipment is placed and they illuminate the area for spot checking or changing wiring etc, great for diagnostics or routine maintenance.
I can now rest assured that my professional audio equipment is protected by this device, which has proven to be reliable and trouble-free so far; however, I do wish it had individual switched sources, but that's fine. The illuminated amber/white LED combo pullout lights add a nice touch, and there's a convenient front convenience plug if you need to charge your device. A BNC gooseneck light will allow you to see while working in the back of your rack mount. It was a little more than I wanted to pay, but it's a fantastic investment in protecting your gear.
It doesn't take up much room in the rack and gives you plenty of outlets for your gear. I would recommend this unit to any DJ, including home DJs, who are looking for clean power for their rack. br>br>PRO - If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is the place to be. There are plenty of outlets, as well as dual pull-out light displays to illuminate your rack equipment so you can see what you're doing and it looks cool at night. Extra long and heavy-duty cord with lamp display light plug. br>br>CON - None.
Without a doubt, this box has already been opened. The power switch is also crooked. I'm not sure if I'll keep it or not.
