Questions & Answers

Are there any monitoring holes or screws on the side of these shunts?

Each side of the shunt element in the center of the base has mounting holes. Screws for installation are not included in the package.

Is there supposed to be a semicircle cut in the middle of all four meta bars that span the two terminals, or am I missing something?

Dear Customer: The shunt has a precision of 0. 25%. The middle manganese copper sheet must be corrected in order for it to meet the required standard. A semicircle is usually the result of our operation. It could be of any size. This isn't a flaw; it's a typical product.

Seller: Is it necessary for the monitor to work if there is a "load"?

To the client: It can operate directly from the circuit if the voltage is greater than 8V.

does not work. This is recommended for use with Midnite Whiz Bang Jr. , according to Amazon. The whizbang's holes aren't exactly the same distance apart as the shunt's.

Documentation that's a tad on the small side Terrible

This isn't working for me. All readouts are essentially as if nothing is happening after connecting to the HUGE shunt and connecting to the power poles of the battery I want to monitor. At the very least, I anticipate a value being entered into the voltage field. I may not be using the product correctly, but I have no way of knowing what the expectations are at this time. The paperwork is extremely small and difficult to read. I'm going to look for online instructions, and if I can't find them, or if I find out I'm doing everything correctly and it still doesn't work, I'm returning the device and replacing it with a Powerwerx Watt Meter, DC Inline Power Analyzer, 45A Continuous, 12 Gauge, Bare Wire Ends.

Will work for testing on a regular basis, but the materials are cheap

This is accurate enough, but it's too fragile to put in place. I'll just use my multimeter to test this. If you're going to put it in a house, boat, or RV, I'd recommend something from Blue Sea or Victron.

I was looking for a specific feature of this design/material/performance and am thrilled that I was able to get it for such a low price; I've seen virtually the same thing for 2-times the price elsewhere. 3x $. I've seen far inferior shunts for the same price, so I'm very pleased and recommend it.
