It is better this time around to use molded rubber than in What's the reason? A Hondabond or RTV is not required for this repair. Despite the fact that it specifies not to use any sealant on the package.
Steps to follow the 10mm nuts that hold the engine cover in place*2. Get rid of old gaskets on valve covers*4. You will need a flat screw driver to safely remove any existing hondabond or RTV sealant. 4. Replace the gasket with a new one. Hand tighten from the corner outward until the engine cover is back in place You'll enjoy it. Please note that you are strongly advised to buy Fel-Energy if applicable If you would like to replace the grommets under the 10mm nuts, then I recommend selecting the Pro ES72132. Because mine was quite old, there were leaks not only from the gasket but also from the grommet, so I replaced it in one go.
It felt too soft and rubbery when I put it on. The oil leaked out the side of the vehicle less than five miles down the road. I had already installed at least a dozen of them. As far as seating them right and double checking everything is concerned, I'm aware of how to do it. There is nothing left of the seal. The color of the one I usually order is blue, and I don't remember which one I usually order. This was not the first time I remembered to take note. I'll do it next time.
The fit is perfect. There is no need to go to a dealership because the price is fractional.
I finally got around to fixing it because it had been leaking and burning quite a lot of oil since I bought it. Just a few bolts on the top make it easy to assemble. This was the exact part that last idiot replaced, but he didn't fit it in the groove of the cylinder head and it ended up all ripped In addition to the spark plug grommets, it was nice to have them.
The gasket was a little stretched out, so I used rtv to hold it in place and put it on. However, it still moved around and got pinched. . . I had to go get another one at the local auto parts store with the same part number, which went right on.
My 1-generation Honda CRV oil leak was easily fixed with this gasket and I did not have to apply RTV at the corners like I would have to with Leaks are not a problem! As well as FelPro gaskets, I trust other FelPro versions in my Jeeps.
