This gasket was purchased to repair a bad oil leak on a 2002 Ford Explorer with four cylinders. It is a V8 engine with a 6L displacement. There is a problem like this on the 4 fairly often. Since 1998, Ford and Lincoln/Mercury have used 6L engines in many of their products. You had to take the left front tire and inner splash shield off to gain access to the oil filter mount. You could do this by putting the front of the vehicle on jack stands and pulling the left front tire. To begin, you need to drain the coolant and take the oil filter off.
Remove coolant from the system. I had an Explorer 4 from 2003 and this worked perfectly. I have 6 four-wheel drive. I found the installation to be quite simple. Remove coolant from the system. The four clips in the air direction guide below the radiator should be removed so you'll have some extra Ensure that the oil filter is removed as well as the Leaving the oil pressure sending unit unplugged is a good idea. Changing the oil when you're there is a good idea. Simple tools are required to remove the four bolts that hold it on. The extension is not required for a long time. As far as I remember, it was just a 3" and 6" extension. As seen in this photo, the gasket looked almost identical to the original Ford gasket, except for the two oil holes flattened out. The coolant should be refilled once the piece has been put back together. Coolant level should be checked after it has been cold for a few days, since the system takes some time to fully fill. In addition, while you're down there, be sure to inspect the wiring harness that runs just below and above the oil filter. A problem exists in their harness where the oil drain tray rubs on the harness and slices right through it. A few wires will be bitten in half by this. It has the oil pressure gauge, the air conditioner's clutch, and the battery cable, plus maybe another one or two During the process of finding this, I found that the positive cable had been sliced through the sheathing and was about to lead to the cable copper. It sounded like an Explorer issue, so I checked it on my computer and found it was indeed If you want to fix it, now is the time. There has been no problem yet since I started, but it has only been a few days. The drop down there is nonexistent. Thank goodness I can now drive on a clean driveway!.
Having an oil leak is very frustrating. If you can't pinpoint the exact location but it appears to be coming from the You might want to consider raising the vehicle high enough to use some jack stands. Use a towel and a bright light to scoot under there. Make sure that any oil you see around the filter and down the sides of the oil filter adapter is removed. It is likely that your problem is due to oil cutting through the adapter. If another person can start the engine, have them watch for signs of oil running down the side of the adapter. For the problem to be resolved, you will need this gasket. .
. For the most part, this is a simple task. However, if you have a Ford F150 with a Triton engine, it is not as easy as it seems. This is due to how the engine of these trucks is put together. 2.
3. It will take a new oil, a new oil filter, and coolant to make Solved my oil leak issue. It was not the filter, but the gasket between the engine block and the oil filter adapter that had to be replaced.
Prior to installing this gasket in my Ford F150, I noticed a slight gap on the cooler side. I figured that it must be designed this way for some reason and installed it nonetheless. You might have guessed that the gasket leaked and I had to replace it A second gasket needs to be installed. After buying oil, oil filter, and coolant, the seller gave me a refund, but I had to pay for 6 quarts of oil, an oil filter, and 6 gallons of coolant elsewhere. Another one was ordered from Amazon (for $9, what's the harm? to determine if the first gasket was an anomaly. I was pleased to see that the new gasket appeared to be in good shape and was working.
For my 2006 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, I ordered this. With the "Police" model, the engine oil cooler is heavy-duty and allows the temperature of the oil to be maintained adequately during harsh conditions, such as extended idle times, hot weather, towing, and high exhaust temperatures It's a race for speed. It is this gasket that lies behind the Oil Filter housing. As they tend to leak after so long, it's a good idea to keep an extra one nearby just in case. Now you'll be prepared to stop the leak when it occurs.
I replaced the old Crown Victoria P71 with this one and it was a very good replacement. The OEM Ford one seems to be very similar to this You should not hesitate to get this one instead of The color difference appears to be the only difference.
I feel fel- The pro is. The gaskets I use come from this company and have never failed me. I have used them for 30 years without issues. Although this gasket is hard to reach, I managed to do it without an external lift. In order to remove the spring bands on oil filter housing coolant hoses, I had to work for quite a while. . . . I found a leak and fixed it!.
I had quite a bit of a leak coming from here at 4 3v. After I took it off and cleaned everything, I put the new gasket on and it fixed the problem and fit perfectly. This is a product I would.
