Here's the news The leak appears to have resolved itself after a few weeks, and it is no longer leaking between the outer cover and the It is good to see that my pump is leak free and that I can delay the need for replacement, but I am rating it as 3 stars due to the block requiring RTV sealant. I reviewed the original version of the book After trying to fix a leak on my Q5 3, I had to take it to the shop for repair. This problem was with the vacuum pump of 2L, which was leaking both between the block and the pump as well as within the housing. It seems the gaskets fit correctly, so there is nothing to complain about Before reinstalling the pump, I made sure that all mating surfaces were thoroughly cleaned. This did not solve the problem as the pump is still leaking in both Various sorts of RTV have been tried to fix the pump temporarily in addition to the ultra black RTV. Although I think it might just be time for a new pump, there is a block leak. Definitely worth a try at $30 though!.
I had no trouble installing it. It was evident that some seepage was occurring between the pump and the engine. The seepage was resolved once I replaced the faulty part with a genuine original. As I mentioned earlier, the one that came with the kit was flat, whereas the OEM one has small ridges that I found useful.
I followed the instructions to the T but it didn't help. I bought this thinking it would make a difference but it didn't help. As well as watching the videos many While I have made sure the area around the vacuum pump was free of old gasket debris, I still have a leak. Also, the metal gasket was bent, which may also be related to the issue, but I can't be sure. No charge at all for $30.
A new leak forms the next morning, worse than There are no ridges on the main seal as there were on the OEM gasket. If your vehicle has a pump, it can be very difficult to remove it. I had only a small amount of room to access the screws on my S4. Now that I have been working on it for two hours, it is leaking even more.
This is 0. My original order was for just the seal, but I quickly figured out the interior ring was also needed. As well as the kit, you will receive the following An o-ring is needed for the vacuum line (not shown). There was an oil leak and stiff pedal, after using this, it was fixed. Although I found it difficult to remove the vacuum line, its o-ring was not damaged If you do not know how to install the ring, there is a video on youtube that shows you how The gasket was also well sealed with black RTV, though I'm not too sure if they needed it or not, so I just took the precaution. I am very pleased with the product and the.
It was a true pleasure to work with these gaskets and o-rings Designed as a set of rings. A substantial leak from the vacuum pump was discovered after I changed a number of coolant lines, belts, and tensioners on my B8 S4. While searching online for the part number, I discovered Audi did not offer an OEM reseal kit, fortunately, I came across RKX's reseal kit during my search. It took all of 5 minutes to install, but be aware that oil could leak from the pump, so spread a towel on the ground to keep it clean. I saved a considerable amount of money using RKX, I highly recommend it.
There are two major problems with the gasket that is sent for mounting the pump to the cylinder head
1. This part is missing gasket material that is essential to prevent leaking, and when installed from the 2 circled areas, it leaking. 3.
Unlike the OEM orange gasket, this gasket is completely flat and has no ridges or rubberized materials. There is an issue with the main gasket in this kit, and you're going to have to spend $25 to get a proper OEM gasket, which is the same price as the whole kit.
I think this is a high quality kit that fits and functions perfectly and exactly as it should. I like it a lot! There is SO MUCH satisfaction in getting what you want and have it work exactly as you wanted There are no exceptions to this rule or anything that wasn't 100% perfect. If your Audi A6 or a similar car has a leaking vacuum pump, then you should definitely consider purchasing this kit. I really like what you guys have done!.
