The diameter of the interior of the The hole size is the sole factor on this gasket... not the gasket as a whole.

Does the direction in which this hole faces matter? The large hole has a slight "rib" on one side. ?

You can't have it both ways. It was never mentioned in the manual that these were used or old stock that was opened and taped up. 2008 is the same as 2008, isn't it? The Kansas-based Performance Parts company is to be avoided at all costs. That's not cool at all. Had a different company sell me an alternator belt which was 10 years old before Amazon came to my rescue. Send these sellers back to the drawing board.

Gaskets that are thick and beefy

My lead style gaskets always blow out, and I'm hoping that this thing will fix it because it seems so difficult.

Gasket for a collector that works great

Gasket for header collectors is great. It took me 14 years to replace my last pair. But we had to exchange the header flange gaskets because we still had power.
