Product Description

Compatible with VW and Audi 2. Re-seal kit for VW and Audi 2. This engine has a 5L displacement. Our kit is not only the best quality, it comes with a guarantee! With our limited lifetime warranty, we are so confident in the quality of our gaskets that we offer a no-gimmick, hassle-free guarantee on them all.
Included are all the gaskets a pair of 2 is going to need. We offer a kit that will repair your 5L vacuum pump and prevent it from leaking oil. The dealership does not offer this kit as a spare part. They want you to replace the entire pump.
The RKX 2 custom injection molded seals are made from high quality Fluorocarbon (Viton) to ensure they will hold up under the pressures your engine may experience. Featuring double lip technology (DLT) and the most advanced design we have ever developed, the 5L seal is our most advanced vacuum pump seal for the ultimate seal.
Providing your pump with a new seal is easy and affordable! In our kits, we included everything you need to seal your pump and stop it from leaking. In order to keep our kits as cost-effective as possible, we do not provide unnecessary extra parts such as bolts.
The Jetta, Beetle, New Beetle, Golf, Rabbit, Passat, and Audi TT RS are all compatible with the TT RS.

Questions & Answers

I installed it 3 months ago, and it appears that the crush gasket is leaking -- Do you have a warranty? If so, what are the terms?

It's unclear what type of warranty there is or how it works. To check if the bolts are loose, I would look for loose bolts. My nut was torqued to specs, and I put a little threadlock on for extra security. I did this job a while ago and there is not a spot of moisture anywhere.

Is there a video explaining how things work?

It's not a bad idea, but it needs

Its size is what the envelope is Where are you?

My knowledge of the matter is limited. Installed in just a few minutes

Is it normal for them to have oil in the vacuum chamber? Do you know if the shaft also has a seal that fails?

This is perfectly It works well to clean everything up after using brake cleaner. You should change the oil after running the engine for a few minutes if you get any in the engine. The oil I noticed on the shaft has come from the inside of the engine, or has dripped down from the exterior vacuum line. Replace the seal on that interior vacuum line The kit has proven to be very effective several times for me.

In spite of its great products, Volkswagen is often plagued with ill-will It is conceived as As one of those parts, we have the vacuum pump. It is ethical to offer the parts for fixing it separately if the seal fails and is designed with a mediocre seal. However, that's not the case. When you only need two rubber seals and a gasket, VW insists that you need to buy a whole new pump for $300. It is wonderful that someone has located the necessary components and put them together within this affordable and wonderful There seems to be no variance between the OEM seal and the big orange seal that often fails. Based on the small dimensions of the base, an O-ring is likely genuine. This how-to does not include a ring for the vacuum port, something I've never seen addressed in many of the how-tos You will need to download the Because my port fitting was rather loose when I removed the pump, I believe it is essential to mention this. It has a new O-type It is tightened up to zero slop with the ring. There is no need to buy an unnecessary expensive seal kit whenever an annoying leak is present.

You can find a lot of videos on the web that can assist you with removing If you have a manual transmission, you can rebuild the transmission pump without pulling the engine out of the engine. The vendor also has a video online to help you in the rebuilding process. A few screws are hidden/hard to access and you will need to install the pump in some fiddly manner, but it is hardly It is recommended that you put the pump housing on first and install the new seal later so you do not The product is amazing!.

I was satisfied with the installation, it works well, and it beats the $1200 cost at the dealership
5/5

The 2007 VW Rabbit I own comes with 2 passengers. The fifth law of life is as follows One of the bangers with a manual transmission developed an oil leak at the side of the engine. I searched the internet and found a video titled "VW JETTA GOLF BEETLE RABBIT 2". Here is the link to the article called "5 OIL LEAK FIX | COMMON OIL LEAK" from "Auto Repair Guys" that explains the problem. Although I'm not shy about repairs, I didn't want this to expand into a project I don't have time for. I worked on a '63 Chevy II for a long time, so I know how to work on cars. We have our own repair shop and our own semi-truck Several VW shops wanted $1200 to replace the vacuum pump as well, in addition to the filter. I think it would make sense to give it a go I was under pressure to replace the 12v battery, so I took the battery and the battery tray out, which made this a lot easier. For me, using the T25 screwdriver and Channellocks was the only way to break the vacuum pump cover Torx screws' grip. There was no way I would have had access to the battery and battery tray without taking the batteries out. Before installing the new gasket, make sure all surfaces are extra clean. There was no heavy build up on the gasket, but you can use a straight razor to remove heavy residue as you would on an oil burner oil pump gasket. I think it took me maybe 90 minutes to remove the battery and its tray, yank off the engine cover and the boots, remove the vacuum pump cover, and restore it all. While I did that repair, I took notes and was very cautious, so I could do it in less than an hour if I had to. There was no problem fitting the gasket - it was straight forward Do not fret that it is circular out of the box and that it doesn't fit into the shape outlined in the drawing. My house did not leak after that. *Aside In my experience, most videos online about making repairs are pretty poor. Donyboy73 has been the best resource for me when it comes to small engine repair. In the meantime, I did check out a few more videos from "Auto Repair Guys" and they're very good. are scared about home repair, make sure you watch one of their videos and order it from Amazon!.

VW dealers should not be trusted
4/5

1268 USD was the price the dealer requested. Pump was leaking oil, so we had to replace it for $700 plus tax. This kit allowed me to rebuild the pump. I spent several hours doing this, but after watching youtube I wasn't too bothered You can watch videos on how to do it. There was no need for the automatic transmission to be removed as the dealer claimed. The pump is now being checked to see if it.

They design and produce real parts that address real issues. I had a 5l VW engine installed by RKX, and it was excellent service. It's easy to repair, just take your time
5/5

I have not had this project repaired in a long time, but I will say I was impressed with the quality of the As well as the torque specs for the cover, that was an excellent My wife and I had to replace the pump on both her two cars. I am the fifth and the sixth. She replaced the pump on her car, while I chose to rebuild it on mine. Work on a stick transmission versus an automatic transmission required equal labor, except for the difference in the cost of the materials. It is no brainier to think about trying this given how much labor is needed, and how much this kit will save you (about $300 for OE at shop DAP)! As well as my two jobs, I would like to suggest A lift is a good idea if the vehicle is on a Golf or Jetta. As a 6-footer, I had to lean over a lot, resulting in a really bad back pain. Putting my second car on stands reduced the amount of time I had to spend removing it, and made it less taxing on my back!.

The search for gold is like that
5/5

There are two. The Volkswagen official approach/pricing for the 5L vacuum pump rebuild (gasket) kit is significantly higher than the VW kit. An estimate from the local dealership for the repair of the oil leak made for nearly $1800 (about half the value of my Golf). With the kit and a few new tools, this repair cost me $75 plus my time.

A few tips / hints for those thinking of trying this repair * You'll need a MIRROR (or mini inspection camera). *If you have an automatic tranny, you must view a video that is more detailed than the one on the RKX site. * You SHOULD have a torque wrench that measures as low as 10 Nm. The key to patience is to be patient. There's nothing difficult about the job, but it's fiddly. It is a real pain to work with the wire bale and bracket. Apparently, all that is needed for you to figure out if you really fixed the problem is to clean up the drippy mess from the prior leak.

The kit is excellent for repairs
5/5

There is no better kit than this one The letter is sent and comes complete with the appropriate attachments To deal with the problematic vacuum pump, which is prone to leakage of oil, we need to order new rings / gaskets. There are no complicated steps in the installation My satisfaction with the repair has been very high so far. One of the best parts of this is that there is no oil leakage. There is a dealer who wants to sell you the entire pump for upwards of $1000 or more.
