If you are taking your up pipe off or replacing it, be sure to use a high-quality metal backed gasket. All the gaskets I have used are OE Subaru gaskets and I have never experienced any problems with them. Several people sell or include metal/paper sandwich gaskets, but they do not actually fit A pipe is just not going to last, you will end up removing the pipe within a year of installing it. Investing more money is the best way to ensure safety.
