I work in a shop, and every few months we replace the fuel pumps. One of our customers has a challenger, and his pump keeps breaking down. Under warranty, the item was replaced three times. After the second time, I placed an order for it. The problem reappeared two days later. The customer eventually agreed to let us order a more expensive fuel pump from Mopar, which solved the problem, but this thing made replacing the fuel pump a 5-minute job. A flex head breaker bar with a length of approximately 30 inches is recommended. It was a cinch to use. It's ideal for reattaching the ring. I believe it is well worth the money because it saves time. I was trying to hammer the damn things off by myself for 20 minutes.
It appears to be well-made, but it was too small for my Aveo. I asked if it would fit before, and they said yes, but it didn't, so just keep that in mind. I can't comment on how well it works or if it breaks or anything because, as I previously stated, I couldn't use it.
Anyone who has had to replace an in-tank fuel pump knows that it is a difficult task that is made much easier with the use of a tool. I'm contacting the vendor to inform them that it's possible that the lot is defective.
It's very affordable! I'm so happy I got it. This is a tool that you can't go wrong with. It's also been used in a junkyard!.
It is unquestionably easier and safer to remove and replace the fuel tank lock. Allow yourself to be patient and take your time.
It cost $140 to do this. 00 less than the Mercedes-Benz recommended OEM Tool.
The tool is durable and effective, and because lock rings are difficult to turn, tapping them gently with a hammer while applying turning force does the trick. When reinstalling, follow the same steps. It was well worth the money. The cost of both the fuel sending units and the tool is less than $60. If done by an auto repair shop, the cost is between $500 and $1,000. 600 job.
I'll admit that I was using a 3 foot breaker bar when it bent, but the one my friend had from Miller didn't bend and had been used hundreds of times. After the second use, it began to bend. It might be worth it if you only need it once. But not for a variety of purposes.
