This is what I used in my 1996 GMC Sierra pickup with the 302 V8 engine. It was identical to the original in every way. I was hoping to get the metal breather tube that goes with it as well, but I couldn't find one listed anywhere. I had to replace the hose clamps as well because they were severely rusted. When I get gas, my truck no longer leaks out onto the ground after installing this FN506.
The old one was severely corroded, so this unit is of good quality. If your car is on a lift, it'll be a breeze to install. I wasn't having much fun because I was laying on a creeper, but after an hour or so and a bath in rust chunks, everything was fine.
A new grommet for the vent tube would be a good addition. I'd also like to see a vent tube kit for this product, as I'm sure most of the applications already have rusted ones. br>But those are minor gripes. It slid right in and was a perfect fit.
When I fill up, there will be no more leaking fuel. What are your thoughts on the matter? It works!.
For a 1997 Chevy short bed extended cab pickup, this is a direct replacement.
On a 1997 K2500, it worked as a filler neck replacement.
It's accurate to the original.
Arrived promptly, fit perfectly, and left the customer satisfied.
