Questions & Answers
According to Amazon's vehicle check, it does not fit the 1994 Mustang. This one is supposed to fit a 1994 - Spectra Premium FNA03 Filler Neck Grommet for Fuel Tanks
It'll probably work.
You should be able to put it on a 1999, I'm pretty sure.

This was installed in a 2001 Mustang GT. The gas tank opening is a tight fit, but that's likely a good thing for a long-term seal. Unfortunately, replacing this did not solve my leaking problem because the leak wasn't coming from this location. The leak was caused by the metal rusting through in the filler neck. It turns out that this is a fairly common issue with Mustang filler necks. To prevent damage from road debris, the filler necks are wrapped in a corrugated plastic material, which traps water between the plastic wrapping and the filler neck. When you pump gas into the tank, the filler neck rusts through, and you'll notice the leak. To fix the problem, I had to purchase a new filler neck.
This replacement for the fuel tank filler neck is made of high-quality, extremely hard rubber that seals vapors in the tank but is difficult to install. I tried squeezing it in with a little grease on the groove that fits into the lip of the filler hole, but it was still difficult. br>Well, I'm getting a little middle-aged now, so forget about it! LOL!.
Mustang GT, year 2002 When the tank on my mustang got close to being full, it started spilling gas. It appeared to be coming from this seal when I looked beneath it. I purchased this item in the hopes of resolving the problem. It was, in fact, true. After installing the grommet, there is no longer any leak. There wasn't a drop to be found. After a few months, I'll update with my thoughts on its long-term viability.
As of today (03/12), the dimensions listed are incorrect; they should be closer to 2. Instead of 4, you'll get a 5 inch version. Unless you shipped the wrong item, there is only one listed in the description. Please make changes to your description.
On my 1998 Mustang GT, this was a perfect fit. Both the filler and the tank have a tight fit. The widest part of the lip was facing out, and the depressed center was facing in when I put it together. I also used Vaseline to lubricate the filler neck, and it slid right on with no issues or leaks.
In my 1998 Mustang GT, I needed to replace the fuel pump. When I got the tank down, I noticed my grommet was ripped and went online to look for a replacement. After reading reviews, I discovered that 1998 was an oddball year for this part, and what Amazon suggested wasn't correct. With a little motor oil around the seal, this slid in perfectly. Let's hope we don't have to think about it for another 18 years!.
It took a little bending of the grommet to get it to fit, but it now fits perfectly and provides a solid seal for the gas tank.
Suitable for a 2004 Mustang Reinstall the filler neck in the gas tank with a little lube.
