It also applies to the year 2017. That's the situation I'm in right now. Since the Challenger was re-engineered, I'm not aware of any changes to the fender panel where this installs. '08/'09 was the first year that it was introduced.
It'll work on a 2017 model with the same part number, 08- My 09 SRT8's rear spoiler was the same color as this one. The 15-inch's matte black rear spoiler, I believe, is a good example of this. The number 17 is identical to the number 16.
There are no tools required; it simply pops off from the back, and all you have to do is squeeze a few tabs. You'll have to remove the tire if you can't get your arm in behind the gas cap; there are videos on YouTube.

Install was simple on my 2013, but as you can see and hear in the video, it just doesn't fit perfectly/snug like the original. It isn't even truly matte black. It's a dark matte grey, more so than a light grey. It appears to be of good quality, but I'm concerned about the incorrect fit and the materials/build quality being inferior to the original. I'm thinking about using RTV or something to seal it up. We'll see how well it holds up in the long run. It's a pity to spend $100 on something like this. Please accept my apologies for the filthy vehicle. I haven't yet made it to the car wash!.
My car was gray with a chrome cap and was destroyer gray! Matte black enhances the already fantastic appearance of my car.
There is no room for error in a tight fit. I bought it to replace the crome one that came with my car. It looks a lot better than my 2015 SRT 392. Even Batman is envious of you. It fit perfectly without the use of any tools. I can't say the same for the one I was in. I'm not sure if there's a special tool to remove them. By the time I used a screwdriver to remove it, it had broken. It's not something I'll be able to do without.
My Scat Pack's fuel door had to be replaced because it was unsightly. This looks like it came from the factory on my black car. It is very simple to set up. Remove the old one from the fender well and replace it with this one. It took ten minutes for me to complete the task.

The Challenger should come in this color as standard. In my opinion, it is far superior to the silver. Before you begin, take the time to watch a video on how to install it; it will make the process much easier.
It was purchased to replace my car's stock chrome gas filler door. Given that the rest of the trim was black, this piece worked much better with the overall theme of the trim than the chrome item. I was very pleased with the product.
