Henceforth it has solved the problem I was experiencing in my CJ jeep which has the AMC 304 engine with an Edelbrock intake and the Eldelbrock 1406 carburetor. It had a problem where it would start fast when cool, but would take up to six hours to stop when hot In hot weather, 8 seconds are necessary. There was no way I could touch the carburetor with my hand as it was Having now installed the spacer, I can now place my finger on the carburetor and it's just a little warm at best. The engine also cranks very fast even after it has warmed up to its normal operating temperature. The installation process was very straightforward as well. Despite the problems I was experiencing, I'm very satisfied with this purchase and recommend it to anyone with the same problem as mine. All spacer, nuts, washers, studs, and gaskets you need were included. In my case, I did not use any In the process of replacing the studs, the most time was spent removing them. I did the trick by using the double nut suggestion from another review. Make sure to check the space between the top of the breather and the hood and that no fuel leaks are coming from the fuel line before you shut the hood.
Thus, I have rated it 3 stars for the fine quality of this spacer/insulator. Despite its size, the intake flange is too narrow to fit my Edelbrock 2101 intake manifold (going from Edelbrock 1406 carb to Edelbrock 2101 intake). The product has a large air gap on both sides, making it impossible to seal, no matter what gasket combo you try the material to provide clamping force just can't be found. During my 30 years working in aviation, I have instilled the best mechanic skills into my mind. As I mentioned earlier, it would appear that an Edelbrock heat spacer is fully compatible with all Edelbrock products, but that is not the case in this instance. We returned it and ordered a Edelbrock 8725 spacer and insulation in its place. We can only hope that it has a wider clamping spread. It appears so based on reviews.
In the past, I have installed three of these on hot rods I With the kit, you get longer carb studs as well as 2 new gaskets, which makes installation easy. It is not necessary to seal the joints. Installation problems usually occur when your carburetor studs need to be removed The oxidations in them can clog the intake manifold and have to be double-scrubbed It must be removed with a nut. The four-hole model provides proper manifold vacuum to the carburetor and is desirable for street use Driving a vehicle to be able to drive it. A model with an open chamber is something I would stay away from. The following part can be helpful when it comes to — Gas in the carburetor may vaporize in hot weather, leading to start problems (especially in summer). Look under the hood for signs of problems There should be enough clearance for the hood as well. The throttle linkage sometimes needs to be tweaked so that it lines up properly. If you have the gas pedal floored while things are apart, verify that the carb is set at wide open throttle when the front wheels are spun. You could be wasting energy by using carpet in your home.
This is an easy to install program. Neither a leak nor a burst. The truth is, I don't know if it actually works, because I replaced my crappy, old carb with an Edelbrock 500 at the same time, but it sure doesn't hurt. Even in the hottest August weather, my truck starts beautifully. makes a difference! With the 1/2" one, I had enough clearance for the hood to close properly. You might want to give it a try since it is easy and inexpensive. Because all the local parts stores said there was no such item and they had never heard of such a thing, I had to buy it online. In spite of the fact that this statement does not take into account the quality of the product, it is important to know whether it is available for purchase Keep it a secret - You are led astray by all.
There is a Performer (spread bore) intake manifold on my 1979 Chevy C3 corvette. A edelbrock 1400 model performer carburetor is installed on my vehicle. It would be best to use the edelbrock part 2732 (or something similar), if you have a spread bore manifold like me.
Additionally, you should reduce the height of your setup. So you should buy JEGS 50021 (Jets use a slim normal nut, not a butterfly nut you can do anything to make the height smaller. It is because of clearance problems in Corvettes that you need this spacer to prevent your gas from boiling when you park your car and run some errands, and return to find your car smoking and running poorly. The Edlebrocks need to be protected from the engine's heat. If hood space wasn't an issue, I would have chosen the 1" spacer option. I hope this can be of use to Having spent time looking on the internet for the right setup, it took me a while to locate it. Thanks a lot.
I was not prepared for how well it worked. My old one was aluminum, but this one has a wood base that makes restarts easy. It usually shows a reading between 50 and 70 degrees when it is used with a laser thermometer When the carb and the intake are operating temperature is 60 degrees, the carb is hot and the intake is cold.
Spacer does work, elevating the carb so it will keep cool. I have never driven a truck better than I do now with this spacer and a freshly cleaned carburetor. I have no problem giving this 5 stars, but the studs provided were significantly too short. If not for those concerns, I would give it 5 stars.
Aside from that, I also experienced what I thought was an unrelated idling problem resulting in rich idling and low torque power at lower RPMs. The vacuum lines had been routed correctly, the timing was adjusted correctly, but I still had issue starting the truck. Since I used this spacer, I have no more issues, in fact my truck starts right up after hot stars, whereas before it would require some feathering of the throttle. I am very happy with the.
