Are the stock bolts required to attach the bracket, or do I have to buy new bolts to perform the installation?
In order to ensure there was enough thread on the bolts, I bought longer ones at Home Depot. Most likely, you will find that stock bolts do not thread all the way on the nuts.

Whose purpose is it to add spacers to the table?
A spacer like this was used with old accelerator pumps that could damage alternators on 34 cars. There is no need for a spacer on the new style 34 pict carburetors. You're welcome, Austen

My application does not require it to be quite as tall, but it does fit well

The unit was installed on the 74 Bug after a new alternator was installed. Despite this, the alternator is still hit by the pump assembly. She needs to grow to a greater height.
