There is no deep pan in this recipe it is for a shallow one. A 4L60E came with a different pan. This will not fit in the camaro pan since it isn't deep enough. Please note that this is for the 4L60E with the deep pan and not the
You may not have the same transmission in your Blazer that I had, but I used it on my 08 GMC Envoy with the 4l60E and the deep pan in the transmission.
The deep pan for this item is 58847. There is a shallow pan with code 58904.
Everyone else was saying cork at the time, but I was sure it In order to keep the gasket aligned, place the gasket on top of the pan and run the bolts through the gasket holes. The rubber gasket almost completely seals the hole. A tight enough fit to keep the bolt in place.

To remove the pan from the Silverado, you'll have to remove the linkage on the drivers side with Torx. There are two bolts on that side. The transmission mount bolt needs to be undone, and then about two inches of wood is needed to jack the end of the transmission. * Unscrew all the bolts on the pan either in front (in preference) or in the back and let it drain a bit.
If the jack is not pumped up once, the pan will come out. Remove the other bolts and the pan will come out. Get rid of the filter by pulling it There is a smaller fitting that it snaps into that can be replaced, if necessary, or left as is if it looks fine (without the right tool, it is difficult to remove). Snap in the new filter with ease it doesn't take much to do. The transmission pan and transmission gasket must be cleaned of any residue left behind by the gasket. Place some silicone sealant around the base of the pan so that the gasket will remain A case made of aluminum is where the bolts are attached). The rear section of the transmission should be lowered. Tighten the nut and add five quarts of fluid. If the coolant is cold, check it after the vehicle is running and shift through all gears twice. If the engine is running, check the fluid.
Spray a degreaser into the cracks to get rid of any fluid. * Then it is time for beer, wine, water or soda.
Good quality gasket, but a poor quality filter. The Trans filter is made in China and I am disappointed that it is made by Wix. I was impressed by the quality of the trans gasket. Be aware.
JUDGE WISELY. In order to remove the trans pan
from the rear of the transmission, you will have to jack up the rear of the transmission. THE OPERATION IS A POORLY DESIGNED SET UP BECAUSE SIMPLY CHANGING A FILTER AND FLUID IS INCOMPLETE. Make sure to watch as many How-To videos on YouTube as you can before you embark upon this venture. WIX IS NOT AT Fault for GM's POOR DESIGN of removing the pan making it so difficult to install. Furthermore, it does not solve the problem of trying to replace the seal in a blind hole when trying to remove the filter. It was a very frustrating and time-consuming project.
It's most likely that you received the wrong part, as the reason for the negative reviews. I confirm that the parts I received were the correct ones for the Upon receiving the kit and parts contained within, it is confirmed that they are suitable for use. The only problem is that I ordered (2) and they don't It is clear that the filter is not made to OEM specifications. Due to the design of the neck, both units received are eight degrees off from the OEM unit, which results in the pan bottoming out on the filter before a seal is reached. Furthermore, the gasket of the kit is of high quality, but it is very thin compared to the conventional cork type, which only contributes to the clearance problem.
The truck's steering wheel is a perfect fit for my 2009 Silverado 1500 4 speed transmission. The reason I replaced at *75k was because I wasn't sure whether it had ever been done before. Because the tip of the filter appears to be permanently attached to the transmission, I didn't need the gasket for the top of the filter, so it might just be there for some other purpose. As long as you use the gasket when you drop the pan, you can secure the bolts after they've been dropped before you reinstall them. In this way, the gasket is kept in place and there is less hassle getting the bolts in place. My mileage so far has only been about 20 miles, so I can't speak to longevity yet, but I don't think there will be any problems.
Many people can vouch for how great they are. Wix has also always been a good purchase for me. In general, the only disadvantage is the cost but you are sometimes rewarded for your investment. There is nothing to complain about with this.
There is a smaller pickup tube plugging into the transmission, but it comes with a bushing to make sure it fits. Would you shut down a 7000 dollar transmission if you could? In fact, the gasket that came with it wasn't even the one that fit the pan! It was then that I read the negative reviews and realized the major complaints are that the pan would not bolt back up properly and that it is for a deep pan, not a shallow pan. My mother advised me to get the right one from OReillys, so I didn't risk it. Sadly, it is too late to return this so I am out 20 bucks and ten minutes of time.
While attempting to reinstall the pan, the gasket had holes small enough to ensure that it secured the bolts as I tried to reinstall it. I found this to be much easier to use than previous gaskets I have used on transmission filters. I will leave you with one word of wisdom. The insert on the new filter can be read here. You should very carefully clean off all remnants of the old gasket and do not seal the new one with any sealer. It is also important to pay attention to your torque settings on the bolts (just a little more than hand tight-- The best option is to use an individual I would recommend that you use a torque wrench of about 25 lb) to ensure a perfect seal.
A suggestion for removing old gasket material is as follows. After a few seconds with a propane torch, the bond between the old gasket and the new gasket will be broken enough for the gasket scraper to easily remove it. There was nothing even a gasket remover could do to Keep sharp objects away from the face. Mounting surfaces can be damaged by this method.
A picture can be found online that explains the differences between the two styles. Ensure that the filter you are using is correct.
