Filters from WIX are known to be of high quality. As it seems to be the case here. It is the Gasket that is potentially weak, and I had a leak on one corner Due to the fact that I ordered an OEM gasket, the review is 4 stars. The filter would probably produce a 5-star rating if it were solely based on the filter.
The unit was installed on a 1997 Chevy K2500. The obvious reason is that WIX filters don't charge ridiculous prices, but they are a good name. Due to this reason, I try to buy WIX always. Due to the fact that it is made overseas, it cannot be returned. My memory is cloudy. I believe it was Taiwan or China.
As good as OEM in terms of fit and function.
THE FILTER IS WORKING FINE (I purchased it in 2013) glad to have it. Funny thing is, my GM vehicle has a reusable gasket, so the kit supplied will not work. The TRANNY FACE and the PAN FACE are flat. I do not believe it will seal if there is nothing down the middle of the pan face. The price of the filter is half what a dealership needs for the filter, so this is not an issue. THERE IS A NEW SPARE ON THE WAY.
It comes with a basic gasket, and my 2007 GMC Yukon XL 2500 also has a reusable This is a much nicer part so I chose to use it instead. However, I am a big fan of the Wix filter.
It is the perfect size for my 4l80e. I'm very pleased with the.
I noticed that the box was marked "Made in Taiwan". I am sad to learn Wix oil and air filters are made in the USA as they say on their packaging. Nowhere on it is it titled "Filtran. ". My return will be in a few days.
