Questions & Answers

Would I still need a new MASS AIR SENSOR with this?

The instruction manual gives you step-by-step instructions on how to attach it to the new filter, hey it works fine. You must use the mass air from your factory filter box, carefully dismount it, and then mount it in the new filter.

This might fit in my 2007 F250 Can you tell me how long it takes to charge 4L/3V? There is no difference between a vehicle with the F150 and one with the F250. ?

For a 5, it is made as an intake. You need a 4L engine. If you have a 5, you need a 6L engine. There should be no trouble fitting the 4L engine. Alright? It's possible that you will have to drill your own holes in the inner fender to mount the filter bracket, but that's what I had to do on my F150, and it is also Why is it that drilling the holes is no big deal if necessary?

Is this part going to fit under the hood of a 2006 Ford F-350 There are 150 people in Would it be okay to use 4L or would I have to modify it?

On my '08 F-150 I put my own I'm only 150, so I can't speak for the fit on an 06, but if it fits then it will likely work. However, I did not have to modify mine at all.

Does the red filter measure the same (dimensions) as the blue ?

have been looking for a new for my truck, but I do not know the answer. It seems that no one can tell me what to buy in every auto parts store I visit

The movie failed to live up to its hype
3/5

Firstly, I gave it a three-star rating because it was relatively easy to install and delivered on its promise of delivering not only a louder but a much more aggressive sound to my truck. Unfortunately, the resulting increase in horsepower, throttle response, and fuel economy did not match the expectations.

Let me clear something up for you, I drive a 2006 F150 with a V-8. It is an in-line cold air intake for my 4 Triton V8 automobile because I replaced my stock motor before I purchased this one - A craft air filter equipped with a Drop-in mechanism The following one is from K&D I noticed a huge difference in how well my truck runs since I changed the oil. I believe that the cold air intake delivered on all of its promises (fuel economy, throttle response, and increased horsepower)! My truck was so much better after switching air intake and fuel system to the K&N, I switched the entire system to the K&N My gains would go through the roof with such a system. Then I realized I was mistaken. All of the gains I had seen from using the K&L system in conjunction with the stock system have been lost in the new system You can drop in N's It is not a piece of crap I am talking about K&K On my truck, I use their oil filters and their drop in air filters. Without a tune, I think the cold air intake won't do what it was meant to do. In any case, the ad states that the add-ons are free, which in my opinion is not I would probably buy this product again if I decided to purchase a tuner, in combination with my new engine tune, but until then, I will stick with my stock intake system and use K&N filters instead It's a drop-in air filter from N.

As of now, everything seems to be going well
5/5

I have noticed so far only one downside, which is that the throttle response off idle has become a little jerky. It is extremely quiet when putting around, even more so than the stock model. However, when it is opened up it produces an exhaust tone that is much more pleasing. The computer programmer I've got is currently being installed, and I plan to add the Gibson catback exhaust My truck has 275 60r18 tires and a snugtop shell, which seems to make it struggle a bit The mileage test should be done after this process. I have brought everything back to normal with my normal slow acceleration routine.

It is a great part, but the instructions are not so good
4/5

I am very impressed with the intake and filter. Using my 06 F-150 5 as an example, I installed it. There is a big difference between the 4L and the 3L when you're doing 3k RPMs. The only reason I took off a star is There will be a step titled "Install the bracket with the included hardware. ". Because of this, I have a problem because the hardware included is a bunch of bolts, washers, nuts, etc in one ziploc There are no labels on the kit or instructions stating what washer to add to what or where to put which bolt. There is a break down of the whole intake with the parts labeled on the first page, but that is just about the only thing it mentions that remotely resembles that. There are a lot of small parts on this diagram, which may make it difficult for some people to see everything. However, the diagram worked well on my vehicle, which is now running, so hopefully everything went in the right place. A little more clarity with the instructions, such as "install a 6mm bolt and washer into the two brackets on the housing" or something would have been enough to get me to give this an easy 5 star review.

An intake upgrade that will improve the performance of I just wanted to let you know that I love your books
5/5

With the 5N filter kit, your 5 will have a fresh start. The engine bay was also cleaned up after removing the factory restrictive intake on the 4L motor. It's very easy to install everything, but make sure to install the MAF sensor the correct way (follow the arrow on the air flow sensor). As long as you don't have to move too much, it sounds just like the stock intake. It is not apparent that MPG has improved. This motor and truck were definitely worth the investment.

I love it! It's awesome! I installed this cold air intake in my 2008 Ford FX4 and I can't tell you how wonderful it is! What a great idea! Installing it took me about one and a half to two hours (maybe around 1
5/5

5 or 2) but I gave it time to do The instructions that N provided were well written with a good idea of how each step should be implemented and accompanying photos. It took me a little while to figure out a couple of steps at first, but once I did, the install itself was fairly straightforward and You can do it if you take your time and don't rush. I couldn't have asked for a better fit under the hood and the quality of this kit is excellent. I am particularly happy with the fact that now my truck sounds awesome! 1) The engine is much louder this time. It is still hard for my wife to adjust to. You realize that it isn't her vehicle, isn't it? My experience with this kit was very positive and I strongly recommend it to others.

This is an easy to install product
5/5

The fit is direct. This is an easy to install product. I am happy with my It would be nice if engine harness leads were longer for the location of the new throttle body. **K & K The engineering team at N does an outstanding job. It has worked on many different makes and models for me. *
This kit would be better suited if there was a 6" pigtail extension for the TPS.

It doesn't matter how it looks under the hood to me
3/5

A warehouse deal was made for the product. I don't care about scratches under the hood as long as I get a discount. There were also 73% of the listed parts and the complete documentation missing from the package. There was nothing in the description to indicate that. Suppose I drove 20 miles to a UPS store and got a refund or a 30% discount off of what I paid for the missing parts, they would allow me to take it for a refund or 30% discount. Instead of spending an hour or two and gas money to return it, I'm going to spend a couple of hours fabricating brackets and adapters and scrounging for hardware so it works. I'm not the most pleased with it, but, it's close to a wash convenience - In my opinion, this is wise. It's just important to realize that the descriptions of the warehouse deals appear to be written by people with no idea what they're talking about.

The 2006 F150 FX4 has a 4-speed transmission
5/5

It is a very easy process to Although I cannot attest to an increase in mpg, there is a definitely an increase in throttle response and power. The sound of the truck is better when it is like that. The throttle body has to become familiar with the higher air flow when installed for the first time, creating a vacuum whine. Please do not freak out over this. The symptoms will pass and are nothing to worry about. A few weeks after installing the truck, I put a SCT tune on it. After that, the temperature went up even more.
